Our Mandate:  To acknowledge the accomplishments of the young women of
our province, with consideration given to academics, fitness, public speaking,
leadership skills, community involvement and volunteer
work, to name a few. Miss Teen Newfoundland & Labrador travels the province
attending numerous festivals, events and assisting
various charities throughout her reign, as a role model for youth in our
province.
We are looking for community-minded, well-rounded
young women with integrity, strong academic and
leadership skills - the search is on province wide for the
next Miss Teen Newfoundland & Labrador!

Sonali Verma

Sonali Verma was born in Stephenville, Newfoundland and Labrador where she
graduated from Stephenville High School in 2013 with a 98% average. She received
the Warren and Catherine Ball Memorial Entrance Scholarship valued at $30,000 and
The Orvil Olsen biology award. Sonali completed her first year at the
Grenfell Campus of Memorial University and aims for a career in Pharmacy.

Alongside Sonali’s academic achievements, she has been a dedicated volunteer since high
school. As an executive member of the Humanitarian Club, founder of the Paper Recycling
Club, private tutor, and president of the French Club, she reached out to help people and
the environment. She is the co-captain of a Relay for Life team to raise money yearly for
cancer research and volunteers at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital. She represented
Stephenville at the Lions club and Knights of Columbus speak-outs, and as a Winter
Carnival Ambassador. As a piano player for 13 years, she teaches piano to young
children and partook in the Rotary Music Festival. Sonali completed the Gold Duke of
Edinburgh program and was titled Stephenville’s Youth of the Year.  Sonali enjoys
drawing, aerobics, spending time with her family, and cooking.
