Hello Everybody!
I thought that with the holiday season upon us, it was time to catch everybody up on what has been happening in the
past month and a half! As usual, I've been kept busy between events and school, and as always, I have a lot of
news to inform you all of!
On November 9th, I left St. John’s and flew to Toronto, Ontario. After writing my microeconomics midterm, it felt
like a vacation to be sitting on the airplane! After arriving in Toronto, myself and Isabelle drove to Ottawa to begin
our busy weekend. Little did we know just how busy it would turn out to be!
November 10th proved to be a very busy as my first full day in Ontario. In the morning, I was given the opportunity
to tour the Parliament Buildings. I had taken a tour of these buildings during a visit to Ottawa in 2005, and it was
absolutely wonderful to see it once again! That afternoon, I was thrilled to live a dream which I've had for some
time now. As it is no secret, I am a huge hockey fan, and I absolutely love the Montreal Canadians. Amazingly, they
were in town for a game against the Ottawa Senators that afternoon! I had never seen them play before, and it was
truly a dream come true. It was a fantastic game, with Ottawa coming out with the victory. (I wasn't too
disappointed however, because the Senators are among my Top 5 hockey teams!) It was quite the entertaining
game, and I’ll never forget it! We spent that night touring the Ottawa area, as well as Gatineau, Quebec.
On November 11th, I was given the privilege of not only attending the National Remembrance Day Ceremony, but
also to lay a wreath on behalf of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is truly impossible to describe to you all just how
it felt to be in attendance. To see the hundreds upon hundreds of war veterans all marching together was
breathtaking. It truly makes you proud to be a part of such a free and grateful country. It was also a wonderful
experience to me because my grandfather is a veteran of the second World War. To lay a wreath at such a
prestigious ceremony while thinking of him is something I will never soon forget.
After we left the ceremony, we made a few stops in the area, including a stop at Capital Sports. (Special thanks to
Ali for the hockey souvenir!) That afternoon, we left Ottawa and drove to Kingston, where we visited the Canadian
Forces Base. We enjoyed a fabulous meal at the Vallis family home, and had a wonderful evening! It was my first
time visiting Kingston, and even though it was only a quick stop before travelling back to Toronto, I had a fantastic
time!
On November 12th, I spent the afternoon touring different parts of Toronto, and also made a stop in Keswick to
visit my cousin Bob, and his family. It was great to see his kids again, including his daughter Meghan Danielle (she's
named after me!). The last time I saw her she was only 5 months old, and now she’s turning 4 in January. You can
only imagine the changes I saw! That night I caught my flight back to St. John’s despite how bad I would have
loved to stay! I had a fantastic time in Ontario, but school was waiting for me back home!
On November 17th, I visited Ascension Collegiate’s Annual Christmas Fair in Bay Roberts. It’s been a tradition for
a long time to go there with Mom every year, so it certainly indicated that Christmas was coming soon!
On November 21st, myself and a few friends volunteered in decorating the Janeway Children’s Hospital for
Christmas! It was great getting into the Christmas spirit, and of course to volunteer at the hospital as I do often. We
had a wonderful time decorating several departments, and we’ll be sure to help out again next year!
On the 22nd of November, I attended the VOCM Happy Tree Opening Ceremony at the Avalon Mall in St. John’
s. There was a huge turnout for the event, and the children were as excited as ever to wake up Happy! Myself and
Sabrina Jenkins began the evening by reading Christmas stories to the kids before we all joined in to wake up the
tree! Since then I have learned that there has been a wonderful turnout of donations for this year’s Happy Tree, and
I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their generosity. It’s great to see the kind-spirited giving
at this time of year.
On November 24th I attended two events. My day started at my former high school, Crescent Collegiate, where
they held their annual Christmas fair. Later that day I visited St. Luke’s Seniors Homes in St. John’s for their
Christmas fair as well! Needless to say, the Christmas spirit was in full motion this day! It was also Stuart’s
birthday! J
The next day, the 25th of November, proved to be quite the exciting day! On this date, I was given the opportunity
to participate in the Downtown St. John’s Santa Claus Parade! My day started early with hair/make-up at the Hair
Force in Mount Pearl. As always, they did a phenomenal job! Memories Forever picked us up in the stretch limo
and brought us to the parade. It was a cold day, but I was lucky enough to have a beautiful fur coat from Vogue
Furriers to keep me cozy! With 60,000 people on the parade route, there was plenty of waving and smiling faces. It
was a great experience & I won’t forget it!
On November 30th, myself and Isabelle drove to my hometown of Heart’s Delight-Islington, where I was given the
honour to light the town’s Christmas tree. Growing up in the community, I always attended the ceremony and
watched in awe. To have the opportunity to light the tree was a true privilege. The people of this town have been so
supportive throughout this year, and it was great to come back home for yet another event.
December 1st proved to be an incredibly busy day! It all started early in the morning, when I took part in Mount
Pearl’s Santa Claus Parade. Once again, I was all set with a new fur coat from Vogue and limo service from
Memories Forever! It was a cold morning, but lots of smiling faces turned out for the parade. That afternoon, I
attended the Festival of Lights at Bowring Park. It was absolutely spectacular to see the park light up so vibrantly!
The day ended with the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in Mount Pearl. Once again, the Christmas spirit was in
full supply, as the event saw a large turnout!
On December 8th, I took part in the Heart’s Delight-Islington Santa Claus Parade. I rode in the fire truck, at the
head of the parade! I don’t think I've ever seen a group of excited children as I did on that day. It seemed as if the
entire town had turned out for the event, which proved to be very successful as always.
On December 11th, I filmed two PSA commercials for NTV. These PSAs started running on December 17th, and
will continue to air until the 31st. The PSAs highlight the message to not drink and drive during the holiday season.
As a former founder and president of a Students Against Drinking & Driving chapter at my former high school, it
was a wonderful opportunity to spread a message that comes from deep in my heart. It was also great to see
Danielle Butt once again, and to visit OZ FM & The Herald, to wish everyone holiday greetings!
On December 12th, I visited the Bishop Meaden Manor Christmas Party. I've been so blessed to have the
opportunity to visit this facility numerous times this year. The workers and residents have been so warm and
welcoming, and it is always a joy to visit. After leaving there, I visited the staff of VOCM, to wish everyone a
Merry Christmas!
On December 18th, I was invited to attend the Christmas Concert at Epiphany Elementary. I attended this school
from Kindergarten to Grade 8, so it was great to go back and visit. That night, I was also invited to go back to the
school on the 21st, for their Christmas Activity day, to begin the Christmas holidays! It was so much fun to see the
children so excited! Santa even stopped by for a visit!
That’s pretty much all I have to update you on as of now. I finished exams this month, to end off my first semester
at Memorial University. I was so pleased when I received my marks back, which proved to be a wonderful
Christmas gift! It’s nice to be home for Christmas now, and I certainly hope that everyone has been enjoying the
holiday season to the fullest thus far. I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone the most wonderful Christmas
season, and best wishes for a prosperous New Year, from my family to yours. And don’t forget to remember, the
true reason for the season. God Bless.

Hello Everybody!
I hope this journal entry finds everyone enjoying the beautiful fall season which we have been graced to have so far!
It’s incredibly hard to believe that November is here already. Since my last journal entry, I have completed an
extremely busy summer, moved to St. John’s and have already completed my first two and a half months of
university! Where has the time gone? I just thought I’d fill everybody in on what has been happening since my last
journal entry, so here’s a summary of some events I have participated in since then.
On August 11th, myself and Aimee attended the annual Blueberry Festival in Brigus. As I’m sure many of you
know, the Blueberry Festival is known across the province as one of the most enjoyable events we have to offer!
We enjoyed a fun filled day including a blueberry pie eating contest, various musical entertainment, and we even got
to judge the ‘missed’ Blueberry Pageant. Needless to say, we laughed until we cried! The ‘missed’ blueberry
pageant consists of men who have dressed up as women, and they certainly put on quite the show!
On August 12th, I was given the chance to attend the New Perlican Town Days Celebrations. This event was quite
special, because my father grew up in this town. It was wonderful to be able to attend this event, which I once
attended every year with my grandmother, until she passed away. Despite a little rainy weather, the events turned
out to be quite a success, with the annual rowing races. I was given the opportunity to present the winning teams
with their medals, as well as two firemen with awards for their outstanding dedication to the community.
On August 17th, myself, Aimee and Sabrina attended Bishop Meaden Cottage’s Lawn Party. Unfortunately, due to
poor weather, the event was moved inside, but it didn’t make the afternoon any less entertaining. As always, the
organizers put off one enjoyable afternoon at St. Luke’s filled with games and music. Bishop Meaden/St. Luke’s is
always a pleasure to visit, and this event didn’t disappoint!
The next day, I attended Hant’s Harbour’s Annual Crab Festival. Once again, it was a wonderful opportunity to
attend this event, as I have several family members from this community. It was a fun-filled day of games and food.
Also, many youth of the community displayed their outstanding musical talents on stage. It was certainly a successful
event!
On August 25th, I was invited to attend a Benefit Concert in aid of Flambro Head Heritage Group. This event took
place at Baccalieu Collegiate in Old Perlican, in front of a sold out audience. The performers included The Kehoe’s,
Greeley’s Reel, and the one and only, Rex Goudie. The event raised a significant amount of money for this heritage
group, and I wish them the best of luck with the benefit concert again next year. Special thanks to Newfoundland
musician Ray Johnson for inviting me, as well as congratulations for organizing such a wonderful show.
On August 26th, Aimee and I participated in the NBA Cares Tour which took place in St. John’s. The NBC Cares
Tour took place throughout various venues across Canada, showcasing the support of the NBA in association with
the Children Miracle Network. In this case, the NBA Cares Tour visited St. John’s in aid of the Janeway Children’
s Hospital. Many children and teenagers alike showed up for this event, and were even given the opportunity to
meet and play basketball with Jay Triano, assistant coach of the Toronto Raptors.
On September 8th, I attended the St. John’s Fog Devils 1st Annual Slapshot Saturday at Bowring Park. This event
was held with the purpose for kids to meet and interact with the members of the hockey team. They had many
games and activities which were certainly enjoyed by all kids who attended. It was an excellent opportunity to meet
the newest members of the team.
On September 14th, my Mom and I flew to Happy Valley-Goose Bay via Air Labrador to attend the annual Big
Land Fair. As always, the Big Land Fair turned out to be a wonderful success! It was our first time in Labrador and
we were treated to an unforgettable time! While we were there, I served breakfast at the College of the North
Atlantic, participated in the opening ceremonies, and assisted in the Shave-Off for Cancer. Also, on the 16th, Carol
& Emily Best, and Sheryl & Lindsay Dove took us on a trip to North West River and the Labrador Interpretation
Center. We both had a fantastic time, and would like to thank you all for the unforgettable weekend!
On September 18th, I attended the NHL Exhibition Game which was held at Mile One Center in St. John’s. The
teams showcased were the Boston Bruins and the New York Islanders. It was the first time I saw a NHL game in
person, so you can only imagine just how excited I truly was! It turned out to be a very entertaining game, enjoyed
by all attended!
On September 19th, I participated in a Blood Donor Clinic on Wicklow Street in St. John’s. As many of you
know, there has been a recent shortage in blood supply in the city. I took this opportunity to once again donate
blood (as I am a proud blood donor!). I truly hope that by showcasing the importance of donating blood, many of
you will make an appointment to do the same. It’s an indescribable feeling to know that you have the ability to save
three lives. It is truly worthwhile.
On September 21st, myself, Sabrina and Inga Skaya, Miss Universe Canada attended afternoon tea at St. Luke’s
Homes in honour of Inga’s visit. This was the first time I saw Inga since she was crowned Miss Universe Canada in
March. The ladies at St. Luke have organized a lovely afternoon, and Inga certainly enjoyed meeting the residents.
Later this same day, I was given the chance to live an unforgettable moment during my reign. On the 21st, the St.
John’s Fog Devils opened the regular season at Mile One Center. As many of you know, I am a very dedicated
hockey fan, and am also a season ticket holder for the St. John’s Fog Devils. This night, I was given the chance to
be a part of the opening ceremonies/puck dropping, as well as being a part of the jersey retirement of former Fog
Devils captain, Scott Brophy. This was indeed an honour, as I can remember watching Scott play hockey since I
was a young girl. To be a part of a truly memorable moment in hockey history at Mile One was truly an honour, and
I’m very grateful to have been a part of it.
On September 22nd, Aimee, Sabrina, Inga and I were special guests in the Trinity-Conception Fall Fair parade in
Harbour Grace. I rode in a beautiful pink convertible with Aimee, and we had a wonderful time! It was wonderful
to be able to accompany Aimee on her last appearance as Miss Newfoundland and Labrador 2006-2007.
On September 22-23, I attended the 49th Annual Miss Newfoundland & Labrador Pageant in Harbour Grace. It
was wonderful to see Newfoundland’s own Tara Oram perform at the pageant, as well as to see nine beautiful
women vying for the title. I cannot begin to describe how proud I was of Aimee, during her final walk and speech
as Miss Newfoundland and Labrador. We have grown to be sisters over the past seven months, and I have truly
enjoyed our time together to the fullest! Congratulations to Sabrina Jenkins who was crowned Miss Newfoundland
and Labrador 2007-2008, as well as to each and every contestant who all competed with pure grace and beauty.
On September 24th, myself and Inga were given a tour of the Air Labrador facilities in St. John’s. This was a
wonderful opportunity to finally meet the people who have been providing my air travel since February. Air
Labrador has been a valued sponsor of the Miss Teen Newfoundland & Labrador Pageant, and we are truly
grateful for the flights which they have graciously provided.
On September 27th, I was presented with a beautiful set of jewellery by Elizabeth Burry. Elizabeth was kind
enough to custom design earrings and a necklace for me! I was absolutely amazed with how beautiful the jewellery
was, and I would encourage anyone to check out her store in Downtown St. John’s. You will truly be amazed with
how beautiful all of her jewellery products truly are.
October 13th turned out to be quite a busy day for me! In the morning, I was a part of the Children’s Wishmaker
Parade in New Harbour. There was a very big turnout, which raised a large amount of money for the charity. There
was also a little girl named Lydia in attendance who lives in the area, and who has benefited from the Children’s
Wish Foundation. She truly defines the importance of the organization, and it was inspirational to see her in
attendance. That night, I travelled back to St. John’s to attend the Kid’s Eat Smart Foundations’ Table Ware 2007.
Both Sabrina and I were given the chance to model absolutely beautiful jewellery, which tickets were being sold on.
Once again, there was a large attendance, which aided in raising and phenomenal amount of money for this
important organization which provides breakfast programs in many schools of our province.
On October 14th, I was invited to participate in the annual TCP Health Foundation Telethon. I was thrilled to be a
part of this event, as I volunteer with it each year in my hometown. I was given the chance to partake in on-screen
interviews, reading pledges, and or course, encouraging the many viewers to donate generously! While I was only
able to stay for a few hours, my heart was truly there the entire evening, and I would like to thank the many people
of the area for their kind contributions.
On October 19th, my Mom and I attended the annual Christmas at the Glacier in Mount Pearl. It was so incredibly
hard to believe that this event had come along already! The time truly does fly by! As always, the event was filled to
capacity with beautiful venues! I was even able to complete some of my early Christmas shopping, so it was a
major plus!
On October 31st, I attended the Janeway’s Trick or Treat Halloween Party. As always, the Child Life Department
organized a fun-filled afternoon for the children. The purpose of this event is for the sick children who are stuck in
the hospital, to still be able to enjoy the trick or treating aspect of Halloween. Every child is divided into a group,
which is then taken around the hospital to various nursing stations, departments, etc. to trick or treat for candy! It
was truly heart-warming to take the children around the hospital, and give them the opportunity to forget about their
illness, even for a few hours. They all had a fantastic time, and of course, collected lots and lots of treats!
On November 4th, I attended the 3rd annual Dine With The Devils event in aid of the School Lunch Association.
Each year, the St. John’s Fog Devils hold this event in aid of the charity. The event gives kids the opportunity to
meet and eat with members of the hockey team. There were many activities and games set up for the kids, and was
also sponsored by KFC Chicken. Each person in attendance had a wonderful time, and the St. John’s Fog Devils
hockey team interacted phenomenally with the kids, as always. I had a wonderful time at this event, and it was great
to spend it with some of my friends on the hockey team. I wish them all the luck in the future with this event, as it
gets bigger and better than ever!
That’s pretty much all I’ve been doing since my last entry. As you can see, life is still a non-stop rollercoaster! I
absolutely love the city life, and I’m having a wonderful time at Memorial University. While the studies are far
harder than anything I’ve seen in high school, I am enjoying it to the fullest! On Friday, November 9th, I leave to fly
to Ontario for the Remembrance Day weekend. I’ll be sure to write another journal entry when I return to fill you all
in on the events which will be taking place. And yes, I promise it will be written sooner this time. HaHa! So I hope
you all have an enjoyable long weekend, and please remember just what the 11th of November truly represents.

Hi Everybody!
I sure hope this journal entry finds everyone having a wonderful summer! My summer has been jam-packed with
events and travelling across this beautiful province! I apologize in advance for the long entry, but I plan to speak on
every event which I have attended since the last entry!
On July 13-14, myself and Aimee travelled to Lewisporte to take part in their first annual Central Northeast Health
Foundation Regatta. This event took place at the yacht club, which witnessed many sailboats and yachts take a two-
night stay for the event. The first night saw a pirate theme develop, as many participants dressed to the nines in
pirate costumes! The next day saw the scavenger hunt take place. Special thanks to Don Daley for taking us all on
a wonderful yacht ride in the afternoon. The event was very successful for the health foundation, as it raised
$29,500! Congratulations to the committee for organizing such a wonderful event!
On July 15th, I attended the annual Bay d'Espoir Cancer Benefit in St. Alban's. They had a day filled with activities,
and it was great to see the entire area become involved! They raise an average of $40 000 each year to help cancer
patients in the local area.
On July 16th, I was able to visit the town of Conne River, before heading to the Northern Peninsula. It was truly a
beautiful town, and the people were very friendly. I went to a craft store and had the chance to watch the women
make traditional native crafts, such as deer-skin coats and jewellery. It was truly an educational experience, and I
hope to visit the town again in the future.
On July 17th, I participated in Grenfell Heritage Day Celebrations in St. Anthony. We had a day filled of activities,
such as a teddy bear picnic, visiting the seniors' complex, opening ceremonies, sightseeing and much, much more! It
was once again a beautiful day in the town, causing a large crowd to gather at the celebrations. I read a story to the
children at the teddy bear picnic, and even served items at the BBQ section for a couple of hours! The people in St.
Anthony were absolutely incredible! Words truly cannot describe how welcome we felt in the town. A special
thanks to Kaye Gilbert and Gary Newell!
On July 18th, we were given tours of both Norstead and L'Anse aux Meadows. Despite coming down with a very
bad flu, I enjoyed the day. I visited both settlements when I was younger, but the experience keeps getting better! I
would encourage anyone who has never visited these settlements before, to add it to your “to-do lists!
On July 22, I attended both the Colliers Folk Festival as well as the Cupers Cove Soiree (Cupids). I had a
wonderful time at both events, despite the downfalls of rain which occurred! I took in an animal show, magic show,
and folk festival while I was there. Also, special thanks to Cupid's Haven for the delicious meal which they
provided!
On July 23rd, Aimee and I travelled to New-Wes-Valley for the annual Miss Teen New-Wes-Valley Pageant.
Congratulations to Shelley Sturge for capturing the title, as well as the Miss Teen Friendship award. All girls did a
fantastic job, and I'm sure Shelley will do a wonderful job representing New-Wes-Valley at the Miss Teen
Newfoundland & Labrador Pageant in 2008. To Victoria King, you did a fantastic job as Miss Teen New-Wes-
Valley 2006. It was wonderful to have seen you again, and you made me proud when you presented your final
speech. Keep shining like a star!
On July 25th, Sabrina and I attended the Lieutenant Governor's Annual Garden Party in St. John's. For the first
year, it was open to the public, causing a larger attendance than normal. It was a beautiful day, where we were
given the opportunity to meet many tourists visiting the province from various parts of Canada.
On July 28, Aimee and I attended the Harbour Grace Regatta. It was a great opportunity to see people in my local
area participate in this event. They ranged from younger kids to adults, and they all did a fantastic job! I presented a
variety of medals on the podium after several events, along with Premier Williams and Olympic Gold Medallist,
Jamie Korab.
On July 29, I attended the Whiteway Folk Festival. It was a great opportunity to attend an event in my local area
once again! As many people are aware, I consider Whiteway to be my "second home", so it was even more special
to be there than many people would expect! Both myself and Aimee were treated to a carriage ride in the town,
judged a car show, and spoke during the ceremonies.
On August 2-3, I participated in Heart's Delight-Islington's Town Days Celebrations. It was wonderful to be able to
celebrate the festivities in my hometown. I attended a bicycle parade, children's campfire/marshmallow roast, and
co-hosted the opening ceremonies concert. While it felt slightly overwhelming in the beginning, it felt wonderful to be
able to promote the title in my town in which I grew up. Everybody here has been incredibly proud of my
accomplishment, and I really appreciate it.
On August 4-5, I attended the Flying Boat Festival in Norris Arm. This was my second trip to Norris Arm this
year, so it was nice to see many of the people which I previously met. The first night that I was there, I hosted a
youth concert, which showcased various bands in the central area. The next day, I attended a very special
ceremony at the war memorial. There, I was given the opportunity to place a flower in memory of Canadian
soldiers who have died during the War Against Terrorism.
On August 6, I attended the annual Botwood Day celebrations. We participated in a parade, in which I rode in a
vintage convertible. There was an incredible turnout to this event also, giving me the chance to meet many wonderful
people in the area. Also, a special thank you for the wonderful breakfast at the Lion's Club - it was absolutely
delicious!
So, that's about all I have to tell you about thus far! It has been a very busy summer to say the least, and it's not
over yet! There are still many events left to attend before the end of the summer, and I will be sure to update you on
all of them! I hope everyone enjoys what is left to the summer, and that everyone stays safe! I am moving to St.
John's this month for school, so despite the fact that the summer is ending, I'm still anticipating the new lifestyle
which awaits! Until next time - stay safe & keep shining!

Hi Everybody!
Once again, I have quite a few appearances to update you all on, as things have been very busy in the past month!
On June 11, I was invited to participate in "Camp Read-In" at Coley's Point Primary. I had a wonderful and fun-
filled morning, reading books to the Grade Two class. It was quite entertaining to answer the many questions the
children had, and to also see my Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Butler, and my Grade One teacher Mrs. Hutchings,
who currently teach at that school. Following this, I travelled to Carbonear to participate in East Coast Beauty's
Hairstyle Class with Krista Neville of The Hair Force. Krista is an amazing hairstylist, and I was thrilled when she
asked me to be a model for her show! It was a great time, and I walked away with a style resembling the 1940s!
June 15th proved to be a very busy day! Mine and Aimee's day started early in the morning as we visited the
Canada AM set on Signal Hill, as well as Harbour Side Park. There was a great turnout, thanks to the wonderful
weather, and we had the opportunity to meet the hosts of Canada AM, as well as the hilarious Shaun Majumder!
Following this, both myself and Aimee participated in a Rock-A-Thon in memory of Paul Magee at the Avalon
Mall. This event proved to be extremely successful as a great deal of donations were raised to help the
development of "Daffodil Place" - a facility which will help to house cancer patients living outside of St. John's. That
night, Aimee, Sabrina and I travelled to Spaniard's Bay to participate in the Trinity-Conception Health Foundation's
Annual Auction. It was a great opportunity to attend this event, as I have volunteered at many fundraisers this
organization has planned in the past. I was even able to model a Cee Bees Stars Jersey for the auction!
On June 22, I was invited to participate in RBC's Customer Appreciation Day at the Branch in Heart's Content. It
was great to be able to spend the day at my mom's work, and to hand out drinks, hot dogs, etc. to the customers.
That night we travelled to Bonavista for their annual Discovery Days celebrations. On the 22nd, I took part in a
parade where I was driven in a Porsche Convertible, and the opening ceremonies. The next day was full of
activities, such as a bicycle parade, teddy bear picnic, visit to two senior complexes, and sightseeing around the
historic town. It was a cold weekend, but the festivities proved to be quite successful! A special thanks to George
and Bernice Clements for their amazing hospitality!
On June 26th, I participated in Service Canada's Centre For Youth's Celebrity YSO Officer Day. This was held at
the location on Water Street, St. John's. I had a lot of fun at this event, learning more and more about the programs
which they offer. We even took a walk down Water Street, surveying people on various issues pertaining to several
aspects of their program.
From June 28-30, I travelled to Cow Head on the Northern Peninsula to participate in their annual Lobster
Festival. It was truly an amazing weekend, and we were welcomed with warm arms into the community. We
enjoyed two shows at the Gros Morne Theatre Festival, visited the Botanical Walk, served lobster dinners, and
participated in the opening ceremonies. We were also given the opportunity to sightsee in the surrounding area, on
the drive back to Deer Lake airport. Special thanks to Nancy Browne & Rufus Payne for all of your help. It was
truly a memorable visit.
Canada Day proved to be the busiest day of my reign thus far! My day started very early in the morning, as I took
part in the sunrise ceremony at Signal Hill. It was a very cold morning, but a huge turnout all the same. At 1:00, I
attended the celebrations taking place at Confederation Building. Once again, a large turnout, as it was an
absolutely beautiful day. I cut the cake during the ceremony, and also volunteered with the Bridges to Hope
Campaign which was taking place. Bridges to Hope helps to collect food and donations to help needy families.
Following this, I was given the opportunity to tour the HMCS St. John's which was in port. I had been given an
invitation by the captain to have a private tour after the public tours were over. It was an unforgettable opportunity
to be able to see the entire ship!
On July 7, I attended the Manuels River Annual Bobber Race. Despite the incredible rain, the event took place and
more than 2500 bobbers were released! I was given the chance to release the bobbers, along with MHA Elizabeth
Marshall. Unfortunately, the Portugal Cove-St. Phillip's Regatta was cancelled on this day, due to poor weather.
On July 8, I lived perhaps one of the most memorable days of my reign! I took part in CBC's Soccer Day In
Canada, as a member of the Celebrity Soccer Team. As a girl who hasn't played soccer since I was five years old,
it was quite interesting to say the least. This event was nationally broadcast from 5 locations across Canada
(including St. John's). The St. John's location chose to raise funds for KidSport, so that all kids will be able to
participate in sports, despite financial problems. There was an overwhelming attendance for this event! I had an
absolutely wonderful time, as I played on a line with Rex Goudie, Snook & Brad Gushue! Many thanks to CBC, as
well as everyone who turned out for this event. I truly hope this will take place once again, next summer.
On July 11, both myself and Aimee attended St. Luke's Seniors Home Garden Party in St. John's. We had a
wonderful time at this event, as we always do whenever we visit the complex! We helped serving refreshments,
took a carriage ride and heard quite a few interesting stories from the residents!
Well, I'm leaving to attend various events across the province tomorrow, so I'm sure there will be quite a long
journal entry to follow the next trip! Until then, keep having a safe and enjoyable summer!

June 9, 2007
Hi Everybody!
Well, things have been so unbelievably busy, that I just had to write another entry before the business starts building
up again! Since my last entry, I've been really busy doing a variety of events. On May 18th, I travelled to Norris
Arm to be a judge the Miss Teen Norris Arm Pageant. It was a completely different experience to sit at "the other
side of the table". I honestly don't know how the judges at the Miss Teen NL pageant do it! I was also lucky
enough to crown the winner, 13-year-old Cassandra (CJ) Hollett. All of the girls were fantastic in the pageant, and
the organizers put off an amazing show. It was amazing to see a town as tight-knit as what Norris Arm truly is.
Everybody supports everybody else in the town, and from the short time which I spent there, I learned quite a bit
from the residents.
The next morning, on the 19th, the town held a Meet & Greet at the Boys & Girls Club. Many residents of the
town came out to this event, and once again, I felt more welcomed than I ever had before. It was great to spend
some time with CJ, and the rest of the contestants again, while getting to meet more and more people every second.
I would like to extend my greatest thanks to the town of Norris Arm for their amazing hospitality during my two-day
stay, and special thanks to Debbie Snow and Janet Purchase. Your warmth and kindness will always be
remembered!
On May 29th, I was able to be a part of Saint Luke's Seniors Home Annual Fashion Show, along with Aimee and
Sabrina. We had one fun evening, as we escorted and got to know many of the residents and their relatives. There
were a lot of participants, and they all appeared to have a great night.
On June 2nd, I was able to visit one of my favourite places on earth - the Janeway Children's Hospital. Earlier in the
evening, I was given the chance to visit many of the sick patients. I had bought little plastic crowns for the little girls,
because it seems like every time you meet a little girl, they want to be a princess. So, I thought that perhaps by
giving the little sick girls crowns, then they would truly feel like a princess, and give them a little bit of happiness,
even just for a little while. Well, I was right. To see their faces when they put on their crowns would do nothing but
bring tears to your eyes and happiness to your hearts. I met several amazing children on this day. Despite the
seriousness of their illnesses, they kept a smile on their little faces. To them, the world was perfect, and nothing
could change that. It was a touching night, and I am truly looking forward to visiting the Janeway once again , on a
regular basis.
Later that night, I appeared on the Janeway's Annual Miracle Network Telethon. This was my 11th time on the
telethon, since I began in 1993, when I was only 4-years-old. Many of you may not know this, but my older
brother Shane, passed away at the Janeway in 1995, making the facility close to my heart. Since then, I have
fundraised every year, and made a donation in his memory. Thankfully, this year I was able to appear on the
telethon once again to do this. Special thanks to Paula Eddy of the Janeway Foundation for making this possible.
Paula, you have been there for me every step of the way, and I appreciate everything more than you will ever know.
On June 4th, I had the amazing opportunity to spend the day at Confederation Building in St. John's. Thanks to my
MHA, Charlene Johnson, I was able to meet many other MHAs, and watch Question Period from the Visitors
Gallery. The speaker of the house, Harvey Hodder, even mentioned that I was in attendance before Question
Period started, with all of the MHAs in applause. This was a surprise to me, and I really felt honoured to be there.
After this was over, I was given the opportunity to meet Danny Williams, and have a quick meeting with him. It was
great to meet the leader of our province and to discuss various issues with him (and have a quick hockey chat of
course!)
On June 5th, myself and Isabelle attended "Blind Date For A Star", which is a charity event for the NL Learning
Disabilities Association. It was great to see Leanne Sharpe, Claudette Barnes & Mark Critch, as well as to meet
many more great people! We were given the chance to dine at Pasta Plus Cafe, which turned out to be absolutely
wonderful! We had excellent company - a group of 10 brilliant people, organized by Vicky O'Dea. It was a very
enjoyable evening, and it will definitely be at the top of my favourite events for the year.
On June 6th, I was able to be a part of Tim Horton's Annual Camp Day. On this day, all coffee proceeds go
towards helping thousands of under-privileged children attend camp. I was given the chance to participate in this
event at two locations - in Bay Roberts, and in Carbonear. I had a wonderful time at both locations (& I even got
to work with my cousin, Heather in Bay Roberts!). It was great to see just what a difference one day can make.
Finally, on June 7th, I attended the Buddy Waianae & The Other Fellers concert in Carbonear. I have attended
many of the concerts which they've performed in Carbonear, and I think they keep getting funnier and funnier every
time! It was truly great to see those three bring a smile to anyone's face. It's a truly admirable quality to possess. I
was able to meet with them after the concert was over, and also to meet with Justin Greeley, a member of the band
"Greeley's Reel".
Well, that's about it for now. I'm about to start my final exams for the school year, so things have been pretty hectic.
I have 4 exams to write, (wish me luck!) and then I'm off for a whirlwind of a summer! I'm sure I'll see many of you
over the course of the summer, so don't hesitate to come up and say hi! Until Next Time!

Hi Everybody!
Hope everything has been going wonderful! Things have been keeping busy with me lately, so I decided it was time
to write yet another entry! Since my last journal entry, I have attended three fireman balls in my local area. On April
14th, I attended the Heart's Delight-Islington Annual Fireman's Ball, on April 21st, the Whiteway Annual Fireman's
Ball, and on April 28th, the Cavendish Annual Fireman's Ball. Each of these events turned out to be absolutely
wonderful! I felt so very honoured to be invited to such events that show gratitude to our amazing volunteers in this
area. If it weren't for these brave men and women, our communities would not exist the same, and it was absolutely
fantastic to see them rewarded for their bravery.
On April 20th, I attended and volunteered at the Canadian Blood Services Blood Donor Clinic at my school,
Crescent Collegiate. The Canadian Blood Services attend our school on a regular basis for these clinics, so that
they students can have the opportunity to donate blood, without having to worry about transportation, etc. Since I
am a proud blood donor, I was so very happy to not only volunteer at the event, but to help in promoting the cause
through my title. Unfortunately, I was unable to donate blood at the time, (even though we tried!) but I was still very
proud to see many of my peers donate to such a worthwhile cause. I would encourage everyone to become a
blood donor, as you never know when you may need it yourself. One donation of blood is used to save three lives,
and I truly believe that it is worth everything in this world to do so.
On May 4th, I experienced one of the best nights of my life (besides February 25th, 2007 of course!). My prom
was held on this night, and I can honestly say it was everything I ever wished it to be. Even though it was not an
appearance, and did not have anything to do with my title, I really wanted to mention it in my journal. Myself, and
my good friend Matthew Feltmate were chosen by the graduates to be the MCs for the evening, and it is something
that I will remember for the rest of my life. I've realized already just how precious your high school years truly are. It
kills me to think that after next month, a lot will change, and many of us may never see each other again, or at least
not as often. So, just a little bit of advice to those of you still in high school - enjoy every minute of it! Because
before you know it, it's over.
On May 6th, I attended the Battle Of The Atlantic ceremony in Dildo. This ceremony was to commemorate the
Battle which was a huge part of World War II. I felt indescribably proud at this event, because I was able to
experience it with my grandfather, who is a World War II veteran. We rode in the back of an army jeep, and also
placed a wreath at the memorial statue as part of the ceremony. It was truly eye-opening to see so many brave men
and women who had fought in various battles, and to see members of the Army Reserves who are ready to carry
on the legacy.
On May 9th, I attended two different events. First, I was a questioner for Crescent Collegiate's 2nd Annual Junior
High Speak-Off. It was great to see so many students involved in the Speak-Off. They spoke on a variety of
subjects, with the winner's speech being subjected on World Hunger. Later that day, I had the opportunity to be a
part of McHappy Day at McDonald's in Carbonear. All proceeds from various meals this day went towards local
childrens charities. I had such a fun time at this event and I want to take the opportunity to thank all workers at
Carbonear McDonald's for being so wonderful to me! It was a very successful day, and the people of the area
should be very proud to have helped in supporting such a great cause.
On May 12th, I also did two different events. In the morning, I attended the SUF Walk For The Janeway in Dildo.
It was truly incredible to see the amount of support for the Janeway in such a small community. As many of you
know, I am a strong supporter of the Janeway, so it did not take a second thought before I jumped at the
opportunity to be a part of it. I was able to meet two amazing little girls at this event - Emma and Lydia. Both girls
have previously been patients at the Janeway, and to see their enthusiasm and happiness was infectious. I would like
to thank the organizers for asking me to be a part of this event, and for the beautiful bouquet of roses which they
presented to me.
Later that night, I attended the WWE Wrestling show at Mile One Center. I have to say, that out of the 5 shows
I've seen them perform since 1995, this has to have been the best one thus far! I had a wonderful evening and had
the chance to meet a lot of excited kids! I even met a family who travelled all the way from Deer Lake for the show,
and another who travelled all the way from Antigonish, Nova Scotia. The evening was nothing short of entertaining,
especially with wins from my favourite wrestlers, The Hardy Boys & John Cena! =)
Also, during the last week of April, myself and Aimee were featured on the cover of the Newfoundland Herald! I
would like to take this time to thank the Herald staff, especially Kevin Kelly for the wonderful story - it is something
I'll always cherish! Well, that's all I've been up to so far. I'm sure it won't be long before another journal entry is
posted again!

Hello Everybody!
I certainly hope that everybody had a splendid Easter holiday, and didn't eat too much chocolate (as of course, I
did!) So many amazing things have happened since my last journal entry, so I thought it was about time to write
another one! The support and love from my school as well as my community has been indescribable! The day after
the pageant, I was welcomed back home by a huge parade through my hometown of Heart's Delight, as well as a
homecoming party at the town hall. I had always known that I had tremendous support from my community, but the
reality of just how proud they had all been of me was overwhelming! I rode in the front of the parade in the fire
truck with firefighter, Stanley Reid, followed by a large number of cars and supporters. Following the parade,
everybody went to the town hall, where there were speeches and celebration! Special thanks especially to Wanda
Worth man & Ches Bishop for planning the event so well, as well as to Mitchell, Matthew, Mark, Ryan and Brad
for helping out in painting the snow banks, and making everybody aware of the event. Your never-ending support
and love will never be forgotten and I appreciate more than you will ever know. Also, to the entire community, I
thank you all for the numerous phone calls, cards, and support which I know will last throughout the entire year, as
well as many years to come.
On March 15th, I travelled to St. John's to record three radio commercials for the "Own The Moment" campaign at
OZ FM. I had a wonderful time, and I was even treated to a complete tour of the OZ FM/NTV building by Mr.
Dave Stamp. If anybody has viewed the pictures, you can see that I was extremely excited to get my picture taken
behind the NTV News Desk, as well as in front of Snook's Wall! I was lucky enough to see one of the judges from
this year's pageant, Danielle Butt, as well as many members of the staff. Keep listening to OZ FM to hear the
commercials, and don't forget to enter the Own The Moment contest!
On March 22nd, I was able to attend an event which I had been looking forward to, for quite some time! I
attended the Rex Goudie concert at Mile One Centre, and also had backstage passes! I was so incredibly excited
to meet Rex for the first time! He truly is an amazing, down to earth person, just as everyone who has met him can
attest to. Of course, we had quite the interesting hockey discussion, as he is a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, and I am a
Montreal Canadians fan. It was great to meet him, and he put off a wonderful concert! Also, while I was waiting
backstage for Rex, I had the pleasure to meet a young girl named Hayley. She was also waiting to see Rex, even
though she had already met him 4 times before! Hayley is a patient at the Janeway Childrens Hospital, and I can
honestly say that I have never met a young girl with such a pure and gentle heart. In the time I had to speak with
her, I could see just how sweet this girl truly is. I am very much looking forward to seeing her again soon, when I
visit the Janeway.
On March 23rd, I was invited to be a special guest at the Trinity-Placentia Figure Skating Ice Show. I had a great
time watching all of the performers in their routines. It was a wide age-range for the skaters, and they performed to
Newfoundland music. Luckily enough I was able to see my best friend Brianna perform, who is a member of the
figure skating club. The routines were amazing, especially to me, since I cannot skate. One of the little girls even told
me that she would teach me how to do it!
On March 31st, my mom and I attended the Rotary Club's Annual Celebrity Auction & Gala at the Fairmont
Newfoundland in St. John's. The Model Shop provided my dress, and my hair/make-up by the Hair Force. Also,
the Rotary Club provided us with a room at the Delta, so a special thank you to these wonderful people! At the
gala, I modelled jewellery by Diamond Designs, which was an absolute thrill! The evening turned out to be
spectacular and I met many great people. Perhaps the highlight of my evening was meeting somebody which many
people know that I have been dying to meet - Snook! He supplied some entertainment for the guests, and at the
end I was given the opportunity to meet him! Of course, I was very excited once again! Overall, it was a wonderful
evening, and it was great to see so many people in support of the Rotary Club, as well as their charity of the night,
the Dr. H Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre.
On April 2nd, I was invited by my school to attend the Crescent Collegiate Drama Night. It consisted of my school
and Ascension Collegiate performing their plays which they won first and second place in the Regional Drama
Festival, respectively. Also, my friends, who are known as the music group Vinyl Haven performed. At the
beginning of the evening, my principal, Mr. Ralph Percey presented me with a large bouquet of flowers on behalf of
the students and staff at Crescent Collegiate. I truly appreciated it and I cannot begin to thank my school enough for
all of the support they have given me. The night went well as both plays were very entertaining! It was a great
opportunity to see many of my friends on stage, performing at their best!
Well, that's it for now! I promise that my next journal entry will not be quite as long! I hope that everybody is doing
well, and I will see you all at some point during this year!

March 15, 2007
Hello Everybody!
Sorry it took so long for me to post my first journal entry, but as you can expect, I've been extremely busy since I
was crowned! February 25th, 2007 will truly be the day which I will remember the most for the rest of my life. It
was the end to a weekend, in which I met 27 of the most beautiful and exquisite young women this province has to
offer. You were each amazing in your own individual ways. I love you all, and I can't wait to see each one of you at
various events throughout the year. It was one great pageant weekend, and anyone of you could have possibly
walked away with the title. For those of you who are young enough, I truly hope that I will see you again next
February vying for the title of Miss Teen Newfoundland & Labrador 2008! Persistence and dedication really do
pay off, and I hope you will all take this to heart.
My busy year started almost immediately. I did my first photoshoot with the one and only Sara Rostoski on
Tuesday afternoon. Sara is truly phenomenal. As Sabrina has said many times, she really deserves to be in front of a
camera, rather than behind one. If anyone has viewed the photos on the website, you all see just how amazing she
is. I never expected to see such beautiful pictures. Sometimes I still catch myself looking at them and thinking, "Is
that really me?" Also, on that day I had my hair and make-up done by the Hair Force in Mount Pearl. It was great
to finally get to meet Adam, Krista & the entire staff. They did an amazing job!
On Friday, March 2nd, myself and Ambrose Tremblett (one of our great escorts from the pageant!) left St. John's
and headed for Montreal! It was quite a long flight, but very much appreciated, as it was provided by Air Labrador.
When we arrived in Montreal, we met up with Sabrina & Chris. I was truly honoured to be a special guest at the
Miss Universe Canada Pageant. It was such a unique experience which I will treasure for a very long time. A huge
congratulations to Ashley Bursey, Stephanie Brennan, Pam Billiard, Katie Flood, and all of the girls who
participated. Of course, congratulations to Inga Skaya, for walking away with the title of Miss Universe Canada
2007. I was also delighted to see Natalie Glebova (Miss Universe Canada 2005, Miss Universe 2005) again! It
was great to see these girls again, and was great for one other reason; I was lucky enough to spend the weekend
with Sabrina Fitzpatrick. I have to say Sabrina, that I had an amazing time, mostly because of you. I know we've
started an amazing friendship that is bound to grow. I've never had so much fun all packed into one weekend
before. I can't wait to spend the remainder of your reign with you.
That's pretty much all I have to update you all on as of now. I've been scheduled in for several events for the end of
this month. It appears that this will be quite a busy year, but I am so excited to get into the middle of it all! I'll try
and update you all as much as possible!
Until Next Time,
Loads of Love,
