Miss Newfoundland & Labrador 2000-2001

JENNIFER HUNTER
Jennifer Hunter is 24 years-old and is the Marketing Director for the
Exploits Valley YMCA in Grand Falls-Windsor.  She is a part-time
student at Memorial University of Newfoundland.  She is studying
psychology major with French and business minor.  Her future goal is
to work with children.  Jennifer enjoys watching movies and travelling.  
She refers to herself as goal driven and determined which are family
traits.  She has won three $4,500 scholarships in the last few years.  
She also placed in the top ten in the Canadian Search for Miss
Universe Pageant in Edmonton, Alberta.  Jennifer represented Canada
in a modelling convention in Dallas, Texas.

She volunteers with the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corp #67 Windsor
and worked as a cadet instructor at CFB Cornwallis, Nova Scotia.  She
was selected 1 in 7 in Newfoundland to attend Quest '93 in Comox,
British Columbia (Naval Exercise sailing 72 foot yags and 12 foot
cutters).  Jennifer was the only cadet in Canada to receive 100% on
National Petty Officer Exam in 1993.  She received the medal of
excellence and numerous other leadership awards during her cadet
career.  Also, she received highest rank attainable by a cadet, Chief
Petty Officer First Class.

Jennifer was recently promoted to Manager in a Newfoundland based
company.  Her parents are Edgar and Diane; her siblings are
Charlotte, Jeff and Michelle, all which still reside in Grand Falls-Windsor
except Michelle who lives in Halifax.  Jennifer loves spending time with
her nieces and nephews and her cocker spaniel Sparky.
