Hi everyone,

I have been crowned for a little over a month now and I’m sorry it has taken me this long to get around to
writing my first journal entry but here it is and it is gonna be a big one. As you may already have been able to tell by
the expression on my face at the show I was not expecting this at all, before you meet everyone you think well I
think I may be a little disappointed if I didn’t win but by the time the night of the show came after getting to
know all of the girls you honestly didn’t care who won because I truly believe each and every girl there
deserved it. All weekend everyone seriously I don’t know who will make top 10, everyone is so good. I had a
fabulous weekend, getting the meet all the girls, the past Miss Teens and everyone else involved made it a very
enjoyable experience. So now I am going to start off with my thanks you:

To all the girls in the pageant you are all fabulous, hilarious and the most fantastic people that I could have possibly
met, everyone was so genuine and sweet, to my room mates Shakara, Justine and Sara each of you are so special
and I have gotten so close to you literally, since we had to share beds lol.

To Melissa and Karissa of course I would make friends with though two girls who live the farthest away lol I'm
defiantly going to come visit.

Top 4 Chantille, Courtney and Heidi you all did fabulous with your impromptu questions. Top 10 excellent again
and to everyone else hold you heads high you are the top 20 girls of our province and that is something to be proud
about. You are all my VIPG (Very important Pageant Girls, we made that up on the limo ride after the show). I
hope you all enjoyed the pageant as much as I did and I look forward with meeting up with all of you as I travel
across our province, I already have Karissa and Melissa harassing me to come up but I love it, I am so excited to
go to Labrador.

Melissa Jenkins, oh my you crack me up I never thought I would find someone who would speak as much and as
fast as me. You were a phenomenal chaperone and I loved our chats, you made me feel really at home and
comfortable while I was on the pageant and I was looking at you from stage just to get some reassurance.

To all the past Miss Teens it is some great to meet you all and as I'm sure everyone will agree you have left big
shoes to fill and I'm looking forward to bringing something to this title and upholding it because it is such an honour.
Nikita, I can remember looking at you pictures online and wishing I could meet you, and when you put that crown
on my head it was a dream come you, you did a fabulous job.

Stephanie and Monique who were sticking around most of the weekend thank you guys so much you made it all
that much more enjoyable. To all the other former title holders I hope I'll get to spend some more time with you,
you guys are so amazing.

Isabelle, this wouldn't be possible without you, you did such a phenomenal job putting everything together. I look
forward to working with you and becoming apart of the Miss Teen Family, thank you so much for baking me a
cake for our fist meeting you are so sweet and you can see the heart and soul you put into making this pageant
work and I appreciate that so much, I can’t wait to soak in every moment of this coming year thank you.

To my family and friends, this would never have been possible and my up coming year will not be possible without
your love and support. To my mom, Byron, my sister Samantha and my brother Brandon thank you so much you
suggestion the pageant to me, Ryan, Christine and Kenny thanks for all your support you are like my other family to
my Nan, my pop who couldn’t be at the show, my aunt Roxane, Cousin Shelby and Shaunta. Family friends

March 26, 2006

Hi everyone,

After doing a few appearances I have decided I have enough pictures and information to write another journal
entry. The weekend after the pageant I went to the
Buirn Peninsula to visit my grandfather who was in the
hospital because he hadn’t made it in to see the show. After I arrived I soon learned that my pop had been
prancing around the hospital telling everyone that I had won, the following day when I returned I was asked to go
visit some of the patients, it was wonderful I love meeting new people and it nice to see smiles their faces just
because they knew they had some company. I have a picture of Dawson and myself he let me get in a picture with
him and he is so cute.

The next thing on my list was the
Big Brothers, Big Sisters Celebrity Secrets show. Well I’m not much of
a celebrity but I was asked to dance at the show and of course I said yes without hesitating - I always love being
apart of such great organizations. Well I am not sure if any of you have ever seen the show but trust me I don’t
think I have ever laughed so hard, it was the funniest show ever. Randy, Bill and Leanne from 99.1 Hits fm sang
Jackson from Walk the Line and I must say . . . Leanne can sure sing it was awesome!  It was one of my favourite
acts of the whole night. I did my dance from the talent show and I was right after intermission but John Crosby
accidentally introduced me as Christa Borden. They started saying how I had a university degree and everyone was
like oh my goodness, I am so sorry they fooled up your introduction and I was like “hey, if I am fifteen and I
have a university degree already I don’t think I am doing to bad lol.

The following day I took part in
Mad Dash for the Cash at the Avalon Mall, The guy who participated won  $9
370, I got to help count the money at the end but that was as close as I was to any of the money. It was great I got
to meet Paul Reins, some other people from VOCM and I had a chance to see Claudette Barnes who was one of
my judges.

A week later I went to
Triton for a telethon to raise money to pay off their fire truck. It was my first time flying with
Air Labrador and it was a wonderful experience - everyone was so nice. When we arrived in Triton we never
stopped, as soon as I got there me and Shane (my co-host) did a sound check then I had five minutes to change
and head down to city hall to and meet and greet with the firemen , firettes and people from city council. Then it
was back to the fire station to review the schedule for the night and then it was the best part. I got to dress up in a
fireman suit and drive around in the fire truck and trust me, it was to coolest thing ever, it may seem a little dorky
but you would have been just as excited if it was you. That night Shane and I hosted the show for 3 and a half
hours with some little help by local performers. They raised $18,610 which was excellent since they managed to
pay off the rest of their truck in just 3 and a half years and have some money left over to fix some things around the
station. I loved every moment of my trip to Triton, everyone was so nice and down to earth it reminded me of
Lawn, which is where I am originally from. The town of Triton gave me a beautiful plaque commemorating the
telethon, and a book about the history of Triton. I also got to meet one of the Firemen Trent’s son Seth, he is
so adorable he is 2 I think, and all he wanted to do was see the fire truck. Anyways that’s what I’ve done
so far - hopefully I’ll keep busy and I’ll keep you posted. Thanks everyone!

Miss Teen Newfoundland and Labrador 2006
May 4, 2006

Hi everyone,

I have been extremely busy and this was the first chance I've had to sit down and write a journal entry so it’s
going to be a BIG one!

Since my last journal entry I had the honour of being a special guest and judge at the
IJ Sampson Heritage Fair
on March 21st - I loved being able to be a part of this because last year I won first place at my old school
(Beaconsfield) and I think the Heritage Fair is a great way to preserve our Newfoundland Heritage.

Next I got to have a lot of fun, I was invited to
St. Kevin’s to host their annual fashion show, which is a class
project for their economics course. I had to get dressed up in the blue dress I wore for the show and watch the
beautiful girls and handsome guys of St. Kevin’s strut their stuff for a school project

Soon after that I was an invited guest to a
Girl Guide meeting in Mount Pearl, two groups came together and I
spoke to them about the importance and great benefits of Girl Guides. I have 10 years experience so I had lots of
stories, I also spoke to the girls about winning the Miss Teen title and how much I loved it and explained how it
celebrates our youth for being intelligent well-rounded individuals. I would like to extend a big thank-you to their
group for making me a beautiful fleece blanket on the Newfoundland Tartan pattern with my name and a picture of
our province embroidered on it.

My next event was trip to
Calgary!! After a long day of travelling with Christine, my chaperone, we were ready
for a good nights sleep, after all, it was a three and a half hour time difference and we had been up since 5:30 a.m.
Newfoundland time. While we were in Calgary we stayed with a nice lady Karen who was a colleague of Patti
Falconer (she is the coordinator of the Miss Teen Calgary Pageant). On Saturday we got to enjoy some shopping
and did some sight seeing around town, and to my surprise I couldn’t find a single Calgary Flames t-shirt for
my little brother, I suppose it was because they were in the play offs and had a lot of very dedicated fans buying
their shirts. On Sunday I had a chance to watch the rehearsals and spend some time getting to know the girls I
made friends with two girls Chantille and Loredana, who were so nice and welcoming. Chantille actually went on to
win the Pageant that evening and I was so excited. Later that afternoon Stacey, Miss Teen Calgary at that time,
brought me out to the Calgary Stampede Indian Village Indian Princess Pageant. WOW!! That was a mouth full,
they had four contestants and each girl had to explain why her culture was important to them do a traditional dance
and answer an impromptu question along with some other judging. It was very interesting to see a pageant like that
and I enjoyed experiencing some of the Indian Culture while I was in Calgary.

Once I returned back to the hotel where the
Miss Teen Calgary Pageant was held, I had enough time to get my
hair and make up done and go take the tickets at the door and pass out programs. I also had the pleasure that night
to meet the Little Miss Calgary (Heather), Junior Miss Calgary (Katie), Miss Calgary, Mrs. Calgary and Miss
Rodeo Canada along with some former title holders. It was a beautiful pageant and I loved being able to go. Also
my chaperone Christine was a judge up there, which was really cool.

After the show we went out to get something to eat at the hotel restaurant. Betty, one of the backstage
coordinators was looking at a man in the restaurant and said to me he looks really familiar but I can’t place
who he is, so I said why don’t you just go ask and she said "Oh my, no I couldn’t . . ." so I volunteered
myself I said "I’m leaving 7:00 tomorrow morning not like he’s ever going to see me again". So I went
over, introduced myself as Miss Teen Newfoundland and Labrador, being the very proud titleholder I am, so I
explained to him that Betty was wondering who he was and I asked him his name. So trying to be funny and playing
on the fact I was from Newfoundland he said "ohh, I’m Brad Gushue" to which I explained how famous he is
down our way (and yes I knew he wasn’t Brad Gushue it was a joke) anyways he introduced himself as a
sports announcer for the Calgary Flames. I thought it was kinda funny but everyone else at dinner thought I was
hilarious because I asked him his name!  Anyway, we had an early rise the next morning on our way to Montreal.
Another story on my way up to Calgary . . . we had a 7 hour stop over so when we went back through security I
had a England shirt on that my boyfriend Ryan had just brought back from England for me so when my crown went
through the scanner (because it was in a box) one of the Security guys looked at me and said “Are you the
Princess of England? and I laughed and said No I am not but I am Miss Teen Newfoundland and Labrador, I
thought it was funny.

When we got back to
Montreal again the bad weather seemed to follow us. We went downtown to shop but we
were so tired we didn’t really do much. That night at the hotel though I met a man who works with a company
who builds roller coasters - they were in Montreal and had just finished building a $25 million roller coaster -  and if
any of you are roller coaster fans, his company also built Sheikra, a new 90 degree 200ft drop - it’s the only
one of it’s kind in North America and it is in Bush Gardens.  They also built the Hulk, Duelling Dragons in
Universal, Kraken in Sea World and a bunch more. Because I was such a huge fan he invited myself and my
Chaperone over to LaRhonde the next day - although the park didn’t open until the end of May, family and
friends were allowed to try to new roller coaster!  Unfortunately, we had to leave 6:30 a.m. the next morning.
Although I was a little disappointed I figured maybe it was a good thing, I should probably let some other people
try it to make sure it works right so it didn’t crash! lol.

When I arrived home last Tuesday I was on the
cover of the Newfoundland Herald, which was so cool. Thanks
so much to the Herald and to Sara Rostotski for my beautiful pictures and the Woodford Training Centre for my
hair and make-up.

This weekend past was also a busy one - on Saturday on my way to Gander, I stopped in Conception Bay South
to drop a puck at a Junior High School Hockey Tournament for the gold medal game between St. Peter’s and
Villanova. Then, in Clarenville, while Isabelle and I stopped for coffee, we saw some people holding a car wash in
aid of hockey - so I hopped out, put on my crown and sash and started waving people in . . . it was fun - I love car
washes - I did them all the time for fundraisers for girl guides.

When we finally arrived in
Gander, we checked into the Hotel Gander and went to the Gala Dinner and Art
Auction at the Military Base.  After a lovely dinner, I was the "Vanna White" for the evening and showed the
beautiful art work while John Fitzpatrick auctioned them (No relation but he did tell everyone I was his daughter for
the night!). Thanks to Brian and Rayleen for inviting me there to help raise money for Central Northeast Health
Care Foundation.  It was nice meeting such a great bunch of people!  Later, while we were grabbing some snacks
at the store before we went to bed, I ran into Shakara from the pageant!  It was really nice to see her again . . .
Dana, I am really sorry we didn’t get a chance to hook up, but we didn’t get back to the hotel untill late
and we had to leave early the next morning to get back to St. John's in time to drop a puck at the 2nd Annual
Andrew Ryan Hockey Tournament.

After a very bust last month I promise to keep you posted and keep the journal entries a little smaller next time.

Thank you so much !

Hi everyone,

Me again better late than never but I have been really busy again with events, school, exams and my 16th birthday.
Since my last journal I had the wonderful opportunity to help out with the
St. Luke’s Senior Home fashion
show, I had a chance to talk to Ashley Bursey and chat with Claudette Barnes (one of the judges this past year)
and Paul McGee. Both Ashley and I passed out roses to the models (seniors) and walk some of them down the
runway.  Thanks to everyone at St. Luke’s, it was a very fun evening hopefully I will be back again some time
this year.

While attending to Miss Teen duties I also had to fit in my dance concert, which wasn’t really an event, but
people actually asked me to sign their Herald’s which was really cool. I didn’t look very good after
dancing 7 numbers in the show but yet the pictures posted are cool – I really enjoy meeting new people.

I also had a lunch
interview with Kerri Cull from the Express - we had a relaxing lunch at Jungle Jim’s and
she was a really nice woman who made me feel really comfortable during the interview- check out the June 21st
edition to read our interview.

Tim Horton’s Camp Day was one of my favourite events so far; I had the opportunity to work at three
different Tim Horton’s locations. I worked at the Tim Horton’s on Park Ave., Merchant Drive and
Harvey’s Road. Not only was I selling tickets and popping balloons for prizes, I was serving coffee working
drive thru like I was a pro, well not really but I tried! Thanks to everyone at Tim Horton’s and also to
everyone who bought a coffee and help supported Tim Horton’s Camp Day.

On Sunday past I was invited to take part in the Crohn's and Colitis' annual
Heel 'n' Wheel-a-Thon at Bowring
Park
. I helped blow up balloons, painted faces, had an opportunity to walk on a beautiful day and met a lot of new
friends. This event was really enjoyable and hopefully more people will become aware of this cause and take part
in it next year to help support a worthy cause.

The last event I have done since last writing was on Tuesday past. I was invited to attend the Learning Disabilities
Association of NL’s "
Blind Date with the Stars".  I was matched up with a group from Sysco who were a
phenomenal group of people. Thanks to Jungle Jim’s on Torbay Road, especially to Shannon and Kim our
hosts, the service was fabulous. It was also like a second birthday celebration everyone sang me happy birthday
and they even made me wear the Sombrero.

So far I have been having a wicked year and I am looking forward to a very busy and a very eventful and exciting
summer. I will try to keep my journals as updated as I can to keep you all posted on how my summer is going.

Miss Teen Newfoundland and Labrador 2006
July 4, 2006

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all having a wicked summer. Since June started the events have certainly picked up. Although it
keeps me very busy it also gives me a great chance to meet a lot of people and enjoy festivals and events all
around Newfoundland. After school finished my first event was the
Teddy Bear Picnic, the sun was shining, the
music was great and there were lots of teddy bears that needed to be fixed. I got to be a teddy bear doctor and
put band-aids and bows on little children’s teddy bears and dolls.

That evening I went to
Bonavista, to celebrate Discovery Day. We arrived late Friday night and managed to get
in a good sleep at White’s B&B before a day filled with lots of events. This was my first ever parade, followed
by another teddy bear picnic and lots of other activities.  Although the weather wasn’t the best I got a great
tour of Newfoundland’s very own Matthew’s Legacy Building and the Ryan Premises. I also visited a new
seniors’ complex and met each resident. Thanks to everyone in Bonavista for giving me such a great tour
around their town.

As the week continued my face painting skills were again put to use at the
Student Employment’s office
Hire-A-Student week “Mall Mania
. Both the student employment office and Youth Ventures were
there to help explain to the general public and me about their programs, they help present great opportunities to the
youth of our province.  On Friday I hung out at the Student Employment Office (located in the Prince Charles
Building) answered the phones, posted jobs and made more new friends.

Then came
Canada Day, which not only celebrated the birthday of our country, but it commemorated the 90th
anniversary of the battle of Beaumont Hammel. It was an extremely busy and gratifying day. I was at
Signal Hill at
5:30 am and took part in the Sunrise Ceremony. After a few words from the Ambassador from France and Parks
Canada, I helped cut the cake and pass it out to whoever wanted cake at 6 a.m., I personally passed on the cake .
. . too early for chocolate!

Next I attended
Clarke’s Beach memorial service, again I cut a cake to celebrate Canada Day but I also
was able to lay a wreath and say a few words in recognition of the Newfoundland Regiment on this day. After this,
I headed back to St. John’s to the
Confederation Building. We cut even more cakes (about 45), enjoyed
watching different ethnic dances and some local entertainment. I spoke with Ashley Bursey,  Miss Teen NL 2003
who will represent our province at the Miss World Canada Pageant next week. I also ran into Sherylynn Butt,
Miss Canada Galaxy, we posed for lots of pictures and had a chance to catch up.

Later that evening I traveled to
Marysvale and judged the little Miss Turk’s Gut Pageant. The little girls were
so cute and I had so much fun getting to know the contestants. Although I wasn’t able to ride the
Newfoundland Pony because I had a dress on, I still had a great picture along side of the pony. I had the best
Canada Day ever!!!

The next morning I was up at 8 a.m. and off to the airport to fly to
Deer Lake and drive up to Cow Head for the
Lobster Festival. Due to bad weather I wasn’t able to sit in the dunk tank however this gave me the chance to
mingle with people and enjoy the local talent and festivities. Later that night we went to the Gros Morne Theater
and watch the show “Neddy Noris Night. It was fantastic, I urge anyone in the area to drop by and see the
show.

Now that I am home again I am trying to catch up on some sleep before more events this week. Hopefully
everyone is having a great summer, be sure to check back to see what I am up to this summer.

Miss Teen Newfoundland and Labrador 2006
July 31, 2006

Hi everyone!

Since my last journal I have been super busy. After I returned from the
Cow Head Lobster Festival I attended
the opening ceremonies of the
Kelligrews Soiree. They had games, entertainment and lots of local people to
meet. I had a chance to speak to some old friends and I also got to see the RCMP horses again.

Next we had the
Lieutenant Governor's Garden party and it was a really nice day. Usually I serve at the
garden party (with the girl guides) but this year although I didn’t help out I spoke to the girl guides and got lots
of pictures. My favorite part of the day would be when I had the opportunity to speak with Her Excellency the
Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada. She is such a well spoken women and it was the
highlight of my day to speak to her. I also had the opportunity to speak to many other groups, organizations and
other people attending this event.

The next day I went to the
Portugal Cove - St. Phillips regatta, I met a lot of new people, watched he dory
races and enjoyed lots of local entertainment.

That afternoon after the regatta I headed out to
Manuels for the Watch your Bobber race. I was the lucky
person who got to release the bobbers! Although I had gotten a few requests to throw a certain person’s
bobber ahead of the rest, I kept it fair and it was an exciting few minutes.

The following week I returned to
St Luke’s Home for their annual garden party. After speaking to all the
residents who were outside I settled down at a table with a few seniors and started talking. They were showing me
the prizes they had won while playing the games. There was great food, lots of fun and I had a chance to play
bingo. Next, myself and a few other ladies went for a ride in a horse and carriage, I really enjoyed that.

Now this is when my schedule got really busy. I left Saturday morning and went to
Heart’s Content. I had
breakfast, went to the lighthouse, had a tour through their Cable Station where the first transatlantic cables were
laid (see you learn new things every day!). I also had the opportunity to tour the Mizzen Heritage Home before the
opening ceremonies. Next I went on a scavenger hunt with some local residents we had so much fun!  It gave me a
chance to have a tour around Hearts Content. Later that day I attended the opening ceremonies of the Mizzen
Heritage Society “New photo and model display. I was glad to see so many people in attendance even
though the weather was bad that day.

After I left Heart’s Content I went to Salmon Fest in
Grand Falls-Windsor, although I wasn’t there very
long I had a chance to go back stage and hang out with Brad Gushue while Billy Talent was playing. I’m so
disappointed I didn’t bring my camera!

The next morning we headed down to
St. Alban’s where we attended a cancer benefit and my face painting
skills were again put to use and I also performed a dance routine. Then, I was arrested as part of their fundraiser,
jail and bail for being “too prettyâ€!!  I supposed you can’t complain, it’s for such a great
organization.

The following day I was on my way to
St. Anthony but the event had been cancelled due to a great loss in their
community. I wish you all the best during this sad time.

So this meant I had a bit of free time so we did some sight-seeing.  First, I stopped in
Rocky Harbour and I met a
group of retired seniors and got lots of pictures - they were all so nice.

Then I headed down to
Corner Brook, we arrived late that evening so I went to bed really shortly after arriving.
The next day was a free day I sun tanned in the park trying to get some sun because I have been spending so much
time in the car.

On Wednesday I attended the
Corner Brook Day celebrations at the Margaret Bowater Park where I had the
opportunity to speak with Premier Williams and also make lots of new friends. I had a chance to speak to an
exchange student from Quebec. He was having a hard time communicating with people so I was trying to help him
out. I passed out cup cakes, balloons, and had long discussions with many people including Mayor  Charles
Pender (who is really funny and I swear if I could fit in his suitcase I’d be gone to Paris right now).

On Thursday, I visited the
Interfaith Seniors Home, after they finished their crafts, I visited each resident.  It was
such a beautiful day and I am glad I was able to have the time to visit those seniors.

On Friday I went to the
O’Connell Seniors Home where I called Bingo, I swear I am going to be a pro at
Bingo some day! Anyways, I really enjoyed talking with the different residents and getting to spend some time with
them. Thanks to Nancy and Glenda the coordinators who allowed me to come and visit both days.

Saturday morning was an early rise - I had to be at the Rex Plex for the
Kids Of Steel Triathlon registration.
Congratulations to all who competed in this event - it was so much fun! Thanks to Kelly for keeping everything
together. Also I want to say hi to Shauna and Jesse for hanging out with me that day.

Later that day I went to the “
Bowl full of Musicâ€, which was held at the Prince Edward Park.  I had the
distinct pleasure of introducing a great local band U-Turn. After I introduced them, I was up on stage dancing and
singing with them it was so much fun.

I had a wonderful time on the west coast. I want to say thanks to Simone Bennett one of my friends out there for
inviting me to come along with her during my down time. Also, a huge thank you to Rita at the Comfort Inn for her
hospitality while I was in Corner Brook, I really appreciate it.

When I got back home on Sunday night I went to Isabelle’s to watch the Miss Universe pageant - it was so
good. Good job Alice – Miss Universe Canada you made us all proud!

On Monday I headed out to
Wesleyville to attend the Miss Teen New- Wes- Valley pageant. I had the
opportunity to catch up with one of the contestants from the Miss Teen Newfoundland and Labrador Pageant,
Kayla Oldford. She was the reigning Miss Teen New- Wes- Valley. Congratulations to Victoria King for winning
and to Kayla, I know you made your community proud while representing the title. Thanks to Theresa Feltham and
the committee for inviting me. That night myself and Arlene (Miss Newfoundland and Labrador) ate pizza with the
girls and talked, we were up really late but that was okay because I slept the whole way back to St. John’s.

I am having a really busy but great summer. I’m leaving town in a few days and will be gone for a few weeks
so hopefully we will be able to update the page as often as possible. Have a safe summer and I will write another
journal soon.

Miss Teen Newfoundland and Labrador 2006
August 18, 2006

Hello Everyone,

The summer is soon ending and things have slowed down a little bit. Again it has been a long time since my last
journal and I apologise for how long this one is going to be but I assure you I have had the best time over these
past few weeks and I have made friends and memories I will never forget.

After I got home from
Wesleyville attending the Miss Teen New Wes Valley Pageant I headed off bright and
early to
South Brook - we left 5 a.m. on a Friday morning. Let me assure you, by the way, I haven’t gotten
much sleep this summer! When I arrived in South Brook I was in a bike parade, this gave me an opportunity to
look around the beautiful town of South Brook, which is located about an hour east of Deer Lake, and is worth the
drive! Later we went down to the other festivities. There were face painting, games, cotton candy (my favourite)
and a dunk tank. The Mayor, Rocky, was in the dunk tank and it was funny. That evening I stayed with the Mayor
and his family. Both Mayor Rocky, his wife Bernadine and his two daughters Kiera and Tasha were so welcoming
to us. We went swimming and played on the trampoline at their house. That night I went to the local dance. It was
the usual boys on one side of the room and girls on the other with me in the middle doing my own thing. I always try
to have fun! I had a great time in South Brook and now whenever I am passing through I always have a place to
stop in and say hello.

Next was
Glovertown we had another bike parade but this time I was leading it with a Terra Nova Park Warden
and RCMP officer. There was lots of games and entertainment. Later I had the chance to call Bingo for the local
Lions Club. I had the opportunity to meet some great people like Paul Oram, MHA and Scott Simms, MP. I
would also like to say thanks to Papa Jack’s Diner in Glovertown, dinner was great!! While I was at dinner I
had a picture with twins Dominique and Destinee I would also like to say hi to their sister Danica who was home
sick. Hope you feel better! I really enjoy the fact I get to meet so many people.

The Next morning we were off to
Whiteway where I dropped the Bobbers for their Bobber Race. After that we
went to Brown’s Restaurant for dinner. YUMMMY! Miss Teen’s always get the best tasting food!! We
were delayed a bit due to rain but after that we enjoy lots of local entertainment. My favourite was a little boy
named Brady who pretended to play the guitar and sang a song - mind you he was only 4 so it was really cute.

After that I had one day off - yay!!  Didn’t get to sleep in though, I am always busy. Next I was off to
Norris
Arm
.  When I arrived, I helped judge the Little Miss/ Master Pageant and the winners were McKenzie and Harvey
- but all the contestants were so cute it was hard to choose. That night I stayed with the Snow family and their
daughter Angela let me tag along with her and her friends to go to Tim Horton’s in Bishop Falls, it wasn’t
too far of a drive. This is when I met some of the best people ever. Jeff, John, Jesse, Chris, Shalain (sorry if I spelt
it wrong). The next day we were up bright and early and off to the Boys and Girls Club for brunch. There was lots
of food and great people to meet but the weather wasn’t that great. That night there was another dance but it
was great because all my friends were doing the music and I managed to get a few dances out of them and the
music was awesome!! That night we had a bonfire at Angela’s house and played music and I made Smores!!!
Luckily we had the opportunity to stay an extra day and attend their Dinner Theatre (I offered to help serve
because I figured I’d be more help than just sitting down!) The food was great, the Servers were fabulous and
the entertainment was phenomenal. The boys dressed up as women and served the desserts - wait until the pictures
are posted on the website - it was so funny! The rest of the night we stayed up talking because I made some of the
greatest friends, and if you know me, I love to talk, so it wasn’t hard to lose track of time. I had so much fun in
Norris Arm - it was one of the highlights of my year. Thanks to Debbie, Ches and Angela for letting me stay at your
house, and thank you to the town of Norris Arm for inviting me to be a part of your Flying Boat Celebrations and
trust me if I can get back next year I’ll be there.

After Norris Arm I headed home - not to St. John’s, but where I am originally from,
Lawn. I had a day off and
due to inclement weather I didn’t have another event until Sunday. I was in the
St. Lawrence Day parade, my
face hurt so badly from smiling but it was great because I was driving around in a Red Mustang Convertible. After
that I took part in the opening ceremonies and had the opportunity to speak to their MHA, Judy Foote, which I
really enjoyed. Then I went to the U.S. Memorial Hospital in St. Lawrence to visit some patients. I had a break
somewhere in there to enjoy my Nan’s Sunday dinner. Then I was off again, this time to the Lawn Volunteer
Fire Department Battle of the Bands where there was great music, I did some draws and I had a chance to catch
up with people I haven’t seen in a long time. It was great to be able to return to my hometown and give back
and help out.

The next morning were we up 4 a.m. and off to
Gambo. I don’t know what it is about me and Mustangs but I
love them - maybe it is because Rex has one! (lol). This time I had the privilege to drive around in MHA Paul
Oram’s yellow Mustang along with a new RCMP officer from their area. She is originally from Nova Scotia.
After the parade and doing some more draws, we all went out to dinner. All day we enjoyed local entertainment,
great food and later that night we watched a great display of fireworks.

After that we went to
Musgrave Harbour to watch the Miss Teen Musgrave Harbour Pageant. Miss Teen
Musgrave Harbour is Bridgett, 1st runner up is Tara and the other girls were Samantha, Roseanne and Courtney.
(Carly was supposed to be in the Pageant but is going to enter next year!!)

All the girls came back to my room that night and we had a big sleep over, 9 people in one room - it was so warm.
The girls kept saying they were going to keep me up all night but I managed to get them all the bed by 1 a.m.
because I needed sleep. It was so much fun and congratulation to Bonnelle and Charlene for doing such a great job
putting the pageant together. I look forward to seeing Bridgett and the other girls at the 2007 Miss Teen
Newfoundland & Labrador pageant this February.

The next morning we headed back to Lawn. The next evening I went to Burin for the opening ceremonies for the
Burin Heritage Festival. We enjoyed great entertainment by Even Tide who will be performing at my family fun
day on Saturday, August.19th at Marine Park in Aid of Kids Eat Smart Foundation. I even had a chance to dance
with a local dancer Cecil, can he ever move his feet!

The Highlight of my year!!!! Well it started when I saw a black Mustang Convertible sitting outside Irving in
Clarenville, it was REX I thought but to my disappointment it wasn’t him. I laughed it off and say it’s an
omen I’ll meet Rex tonight. So when we arrived in Lewisporte it was for the Mussel Bed Soiree Idol. It was
great to see so much talent and the winner R.J. in also coming to perform at my Family Fun Day. My entertainment
is coming from so far away!  So it was late and we went back to the Brittany Inn.  The receptionist asked me if we
were staying for the Rex Concert the following night but I told her how I was going to be in Brigus and
unfortunately, would miss it. So she told me that “Rex is going to be here in an hour I was super excited.
When he arrived, they escorted him in through the back door - he was staying right across the hall from me!!!! It
was all arranged, all I had to do was go up to his room and use the secret knock (seriously!!) and I met REX!
Anyways, it was amazing - he is such a grounded and funny guy. He told me the secret to traveling is his Nintendo
DS and he has one of my autograph cards. That’s right, Rex Goudie has one of my cards - you know your
important when . . . lol. He signed my CD but I didn’t want to keep him too long and we were leaving early the
next morning again, so we headed back to our rooms. I want to say thanks to Rex for taking the time from his busy
schedule to meet me - you are a great performer and an inspiration; it doesn’t matter if you are from a small
town you can accomplish your dreams.

Early the next morning we headed off the
Brigus for the Blueberry Festival. Myself and Justine O’Leary, Miss
Teen Trinity Conception (contestant #20 at the Miss Teen pageant this year) were in the same truck in the parade
while Ashley Bursey, Miss Teen 2003 and 1st runner up at Miss World Canada 2006 drove behind us in the
VOCM Hummer. Later that day we met up with Sara Green, Miss Summer Holidays Achievement.  Myself and
Ashley emceed the blueberry pie eating contest - one man ate 2 pies in 37 seconds - it was insane. We enjoyed the
various entertainment and looked around at many different booths. That night, despite the rain, we all enjoyed the â
€œMissed Blueberry Pageantâ€ where men dress up as women and compete for the title. I judged with two guys
from Regina. It was so much fun I really enjoyed the Blueberry Festival thanks for the invitation!

Ever since then I have been running around like crazy trying to get things ready for my
Family Fun Day and I hope
you all come and join me because it’s for a great cause – all proceeds go to Kids Eat Smart Foundation.
After Saturday I have to get packed because I am leaving in less than a week to compete for the National title.

Hope to keep you all posted.

August 22, 2006

Hi everyone,

I know it has only been a few days since my last journal but I wanted to let you all know about my
Family Fun
Day
. We were up early, and were in Marine Park in Pouch Cove at 8:30 a.m. to set up. It was great - I had so
much help from friends and family. The event started around 11 a.m. and although we had slow start, things sure
picked up later in the afternoon. R.J. Perry from Lewisporte performed and he was phenomenal (his friend Mike
accompanied him). I would like thank them for coming to St. John’s; as well I would like to say a big thank
you to Even Tide for coming from the Burin Peninsula and performing for three hours.  They also took part in our
games and supported Kids Eat Smart. Michael, Ryan, Vanessa and Darrell you guys are so funny and whenever
you are in town give me a call; I’ll surely take you around and hang out with you guys if you want. I really
appreciate you guys coming in and I hope you enjoyed performing for us. Throughout the event I spoke about and
provided information about Kids Eat Smart and had the opportunity to thank sponsors. At the end of the day -
with lots of help from so many people - we raised $400 for the
Kids Eat Smart Foundation . . . and considering
there were other events going on around the city, I believe it was a success. I would like to thank everyone who
came out or donated items - you made our day a success and helped raise money for a worthy cause.

Since Saturday, I have been preparing for the
Miss Teen Canada Scholarship Pageant which starts on August 27th
(I am leaving on the 24th to drive up). I am anxious and a little bit nervous, but also really excited. While in
Toronto, I will be attending the Miss Universe Canada Prelims, the Miss Teen Canada Scholarship Pageant and I
am so going to the CN Tower and Canada’s Wonderland - I am so pumped! Anyways this is just a short
journal to let you all know I am preparing to go away and give you a little recap on our family fun day. When I get
home I will be sure to fill you all in on how everything went and thank you all for your support since February.

Hi everyone,

We are on our way, we are on the ferry from Argentia to North Sydney. I want to say thank- you to Marine
Atlantic for sponsoring me.!

Also, before I left yesterday I made my presentation of $400.00 to Kids Eat Smart Foundation of Newfoundland
and Labrador. They were delighted - a great way to start their school year. I cannot say thank-you enough to my
volunteers and to everyone who supported this cause.

Thanks, I'll keep in touch over the next week.

Miss Teen Newfoundland and Labrador 2006
August 27, 2008

I have just gotten back to my room after the talent competition. Today we had registration where I had a chance to
catch up Arlene O'Keefe (Miss Teen NL 2000/ Miss Newfoundland and Labrador 2006) and Kristen Parsons
(Miss Teen 2002). After registration we took part in some seminars such as
How to Ace an Interview and
Dancing and Singing Tips. Tonight we had the talent competition - I danced and both Arlene and Kristen sang
and they were fabulous. The day is coming to an end and it has been wonderful, I am looking forward to the next
few days and getting to know all the girls better.

Just to let everyone know, we cannot take pictures during the competition or seminars so we wont be able to post
pictures (except Candids) until after we purchase the CD with the official photos but I promise to keep everyone
posted so stay tuned!!

P.S. Last night I had the wonderful privlidge of meeting Miss Universe Canada - Alice Panikian as well as Denis
Davila - National Director, Miguel Martinez - MUC Stylist, Antoniette - Top Canadian Designer as well as the
MUC Prelim delegates. It was a great show and during rehersals, Alice gave me coaching for this week. Thank you
to everyone for your support and kind words!

Miss Teen Newfoundland and Labrador 2006
September 10, 2006

Hi everyone,

So it has been almost two weeks since I have been crowned Miss Teen Canada Scholarship and it has been and
honour and a pleasure representing our beautiful province.

First of all I would like to thank the staff of Canada Pageants Corporation (CPC) for making the pageant such an
enjoyable experience and always helping the contestants prepare before the pageant - you were all so great to talk
to and I look forward to working with you over the coming year.

As well, I would like to congratulate each contestant on a job well done, just participating in this pageant alone has
been such a great experience for me and I hope you all learned something and brought it home with you to help as
you continue to work on your platforms.  It was so great to be able to meet you all, especially where everyone was
from different parts in the country with their own unique story.

To Kristen Parsons, I knew you could do it all along. Wabush was going to take it home for Newfoundland and
Labrador. I enjoyed your company so much and it was really great getting to know you, although everyone thought
we knew each other before. I can’t wait to spend this year with you, travelling across the country and getting to
do great things. I love your platform HANDS (Helping Adolescents Negotiate Defensive Systems) has such a
powerful message and I hope you able to share that with as many people as possible.

To Madison Linsdstrom, Miss Preteen Canada Scholarship - you are so cute and great. I am hoping both Kristen
and I will be able to do lots of things with you. Good luck with everything you do and I hope to see you soon.

To the other titleholders Stephanie and Irene – congratulations, I wish you all the best.

I would have to say one of the most powerful and moving points of this experience was meeting Tracy, Mrs.
Canada 2005. Her story and her passion behind her platform were so inspiring. Tracy you are such a great person
and I really hope we keep in touch. To the other past titleholders, Vanessa and Angela, you made this weekend
very comfortable for everyone thank you so much. I would also like to take this time to say hi to Megan Punnett,
former Miss Canada Scholarship, who is currently in Thailand as well as to Tammy the former Mrs. Canada
International whom we didn’t get to meet. It was so great to be able to meet all these people.

Next I would like to say thank you to everyone for their support - especially my fan club up away. Christopher Fry
. . . you and your flag were my energy boost and the laugh that kept me going.  Although I am still a little miffed that
everyone knew the surprise (that you were coming) and I didn’t, but I guess I can forgive you. As well, I would
like to say thanks to Brian, one of my new friends - thank you so much for driving us around Toronto those few
days and I hope you had fun in Canada’s Wonderland with us.

To my family . . .  my mom, Brandon, Samantha and Ryan thanks so much for being there for me and helping me
through this and keeping my confidence up, you are all so great I love you.

Jimmy Steele . . .  ohh you are too funny, I miss you already. Thanks so much for the great tips and kinds words.
You sure can pick the outfits out Jimmy! Looking forward to seeing you soon, thanks so much.

Last but not least, Isabelle . . . where would I be without you, I can’t say. Over these past six months a great
friendship has developed which has made the whole Miss Teen Newfoundland and Labrador as well as Miss Teen
Canada Scholarship better for me. I don’t think any other girl up there had a director with them thanks so much
for you kindness and support.

Thanks to everyone for supporting me and for their kind words; hopefully I will make Newfoundland and Labrador
proud.

After the Pageant we went to Canada’s Wonderland… woo, I was pumped. Got on all the roller coasters,
went to the water park what else could I ask for.  Of course I had the best company Isabelle, Brian, Chris,
Samantha, my mom, Brandon, Ryan and my little cousin Abigail. It was so much fun.

Since coming home, I only had a day or two to get ready for school and try to get some rest from this very busy
and eventful summer. Trying to settle back into the rhythm of things with school and catching up on sleep really
wears you out. Actually this week was my little break.

Thursday past, I had the honour of attending Janus Productions first play at the LSPU Hall The Laramie Project
directed by Chris Fry. It was amazing - honestly the best play I have ever seen, it was so professional and the cast
and crew were great. Congratulations. I urge everyone who can to go see it.

Anyways, I am sorry this was so long coming but hopefully after some rest I’ll be a little more on top of my
game. I’ll keep you posted - I am off to Happy Valley-Goose Bay next weekend for the Big Land Fair so Iâ
€™ll write again when I get home.

Thanks so much!

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all doing well, again I have to apologise for taking so long to write a journal. I didn’t realise how
long it’s been until I just looked at my appearances and took some time to consider how much I had to write
about.

Since the last time I wrote I have traveled to
Happy Valley-Goose Bay. It was my first trip to Labrador and it
was great. Saturday morning I served breakfast at the College of the North Atlantic. After that we headed over to
the Arena across the road and had a chance to see all the booths put off by different organisations and groups from
the area. I had the opportunity to watch an Aboriginal Fashion Show, judge agriculture contests and got to
participate in Shave for the Brave. We had four police officers who volunteered their hair as well as one very brave
woman. It was such a great day full of lots of activities for people of all ages. It was a great first trip to Labrador.
On my way home I even had a chance to ride home in the cock- pit of the plane with the pilots as we landed in St.
John’s how cool is that? I was really excited but no one else seemed to think it was as exciting as I did.

After Goose Bay I went down to the
Burin peninsula, which is where I am originally from. Friday morning I
attended a play called the “Known Soldier at Holy Name Mary Academy; it was such a great show. After
lunch I visited all the classes and spoke to the students about different things I have been involved with.

Later the evening I attended the
Miss Teen Southern Newfoundland Pageant, which is a preliminary to the
Miss Teen Newfoundland and Labrador Pageant. It was so great to be able to see Courtney again; we had a
chance to catch up as well and try to give the contestants some tips from our experiences. The show was so well
put together and it was such an honour to be able to speak and be at an event for girls in communities like the one I
am from. Congratulations to Jessica for winning - you deserved it! To all the other contestants, you girls all did so
well, everyone was very well put together and you all had such great personalities for it, I am so proud of you all.

The next morning I was back to St. John’s for another event. I had the privilege to attend the
AY (Allied
Youth) Kick-off
banquet where I had the opportunity to speak about the Miss Teen Pageant, my platform about
Healthy Living and about the importance of getting involved with groups like AY.  It was also my privilege to award
the Miss and Mr. Friendship award. Miss friendship went to Victoria and Leanne Mackenzie who are twins and
who are also from the cheerleading team I coach. Joseph from Grand Falls – Windsor won the Mr. Friendship
award.

September 29th was
Commotion Day for the Eastern School District so it was an excellent chance to speak on
my platform. First I went to Macdonald Drive Junior High; I spoke about the importance of Healthy Living, and
commended them for starting a Sub Day, which is a great initiative to get their students to eat healthy. Then I went
to I J Samson Junior High and, Bishops College where again I had a chance to speak and spend time with the
students. That afternoon I went to Beaconsfield Junior High, which is my old Junior High School, and I spoke to the
grade 8 level students before they started their Healthy Living Activity, there was such great energy and enthusiasm
put towards the promotion of Healthy Living it just made everyone feel great. I think we should have more
opportunities to get people excited about staying active and making healthy choices.

The next two nights I went to
Harbour Grace for the Miss Newfoundland and Labrador Pageant. I had the
pleasure of speaking with the Mayor of Harbour Grace who is great. Thank you Mr. Combs for making me feel
welcomed in Harbour Grace - I would love to come back some time. Before the show, I visited one of the booths
where they test and tell you your blood type – which I did.  The shows were very well put together - congrats to
Suzanne Williams and Suzanne Chafe for doing such a great job on their first year. Congratulations to all the girls
who competed, you all did a fantastic job. To my sister Samantha, I am soooo proud of you, I couldn’t have
been happier for you. Good Job Aimee on you accomplishment - I hope you enjoy your year and make the best
out of it.

The next morning it was my privilege to pass out roses to the survivors at the
CIBC Run for the Cure. Not only
were these women survivors of struggles with Breast Cancer but some of them are even still under going treatment
and ran 5 km which I think is amazing. It was such a great day to be there, and take part in such a worthwhile
fundraiser and it was a great end to the weekend.

This weekend now was actually my weekend off, so I spent it with the Beaconsfield Cheerleading team however I
am enjoying it to the fullest and getting ready to go again. I had a great past few weeks and I hope to see you all at
Lester’s Farm next weekend for the Pumpkin Carving Contest.

October 29, 2006

Hi everyone,

I can hardly believe October is almost over; it seems as if time is flying by. Since my last journal entry, I had the
pleasure of hosting the monthly school assembly at my very own school,
Bishops College.  I can’t explain to
you how nervous I was because I was in front of all my friends and teachers!  Fortunately, it went well.

Next on my agenda, I attended the very first
Miss Teen Placentia West pageant in Rushoon.  Christopher Fry
was my chaperone and, I must say, I feel bad for him because I sang the whole way . . .  trust me you do not want
to hear me sing; it isn’t very pleasant!  All the girls were so excited, and it was coordinated so beautifully.  In
the end, out of 11 contestants, Jillian Matterface was named Miss Teen Placentia West, Keisha Whyte was her 1st
runner up and Kaitlyn Murphy her 2nd runner up. To add to all of the fun, the girls chose and award for the boys
who escorted the girls throughout the evening, and chose Mr. Placentia West Hottie.  That honour went to
Christopher Picco. It was such a great event and all the dresses were so colourful. At the show I had a chance to
spend some time with Jessica Prior the newly crowned Miss Teen Southern Newfoundland as well to hang out with
Jenna, the little singer sensation down that way, she also sang at the Miss Teen Southern Newfoundland Pageant
and she is phenomenal! That night we headed back to St. John’s and the singing continued.

The following morning was
Lester’s Farm Pumpkin Festival. This is an event I attend every year with my
family to get a pumpkin, see the animals, and try the corn maze. I was invited to be part of the celebrity pumpkin
carving challenge and I was sure I was going to win…… except I wasn’t told you could bring props and the
other contestants had everything figured out - I was at such a disadvantage! Some of the contestants were Mark
Vaughan- Jackson (The Telegram) who happens to be the reigning winner, Paula Tessier (Mount Pearl City
Counsellor), Christopher Fry (representing the Miss Teen Newfoundland and Labrador Pageant) and myself
representing me I suppose. Well, we had a 20-minute time limit but it took me 10 minutes to get the top off the
pumpkin, and that was with the help of all the other contestants! In the end, I had to resort to the crown and said
my pumpkin was a princess. The judging is done on crowd applause and if Mark Vaughan Jackson’s
Frankenstein Pumpkin wasn’t so cool I would have had a chance. Ahh well it was good fun, and I enjoyed
myself except for the fact I almost cut my finger off trying to carve the pumpkin but it was all good they gave me an
ice cream to compensate. Throughout the day we had a chance to meet people, get lots of pictures and see the
animals  - watch out for the Emus he almost bit me once, and those Turkey’s weren’t very friendly either!
Thank you to the Lester Family for allowing me to be part of such a great event. All proceeds from the Lester’s
Farm Pumpkin Festival go to the R.E.A.L. Program in St. John’s.

Following my big adventure at Lester’s Farm I was an invited Guest to
represent the youth at the Teacherâ
€™s Allocation Forum Commission
which took place at the Eastern School District in Atlantic Place.  I hope I
conveyed what I feel are the thoughts and concerns of the youth of today concerning this issue. I was the only
teenager there, but I hope I did us all proud.

Next I went to a beautiful small town of
Birchy Bay to attend their 12th annual Fall Fair.  Friday night after I
arrived and settled into the place where I was staying, I had a chance to hang out with some of the local teenagers.
They were really nice and I want to thank them for taking me out and showing me such a wonderful time. The next
morning I took part in the Parade; it was cold but it gave me a chance to take in the beautiful scenery of Birchy Bay
in the daylight. I judged bike and costume contests and presented the Youth Award for the past year. The town
welcomed me so warmly they made me feel very special and I really appreciated it. Thank you for the invitation to
be part of your celebrations! As well, after the events, MP Scott Simms, Mayor Seymor Quinlan and I went to the
local seniors home to have a visit with the residents. I feel it is very important to speak to the seniors in the town,
because often they aren’t able to take part in the festivities and they like having someone to talk to. Before I
left, I had a spend some time with Megan, Robert, Harry and Matt who showed me a few more things around
Birchy Bay, like the look out point and to say good-bye. Thanks so much to everyone for making it a very
memorable weekend and for making friendships I hope will last a long time.

Next, I am looking forward to taking part in the Janeway Halloween Party, as well as my upcoming trip to Toronto,
Niagara Falls, Ottawa and Montreal next week.

Talk to you soon, all my love .

November 22, 2006

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all doing well. I have done a lot since my last journal so it’s going to be a long one!!! On
October 31st, I had the chance to go "
Trick or Treating" with the children at the Janeway Hospital in St.
John’s. We visited every nurse’s station, made lots of friends and enjoyed cake and witched brew,
yummy! I had a chance to meet witches, pumpkins and even a girl dressed as Hilary Duff. It was a great afternoon,
with lots of amazing young kids and I must say it was my favourite Halloween ever!

That following Saturday, I attended the
VOCM Mad Dash for the Cash. It was my second time attending this
event since winning Miss Teen and it always a lot of fun! Congratulations to Marie Parmiter for doing such a great
job! I am sure you will enjoy your winnings.

The next morning I left for
Toronto. After arriving Sunday morning at 7 a.m., we jumped in the car and started
driving . . .  first stop
Buffalo, New York. We had a chance to see some of the damaged caused by the recent
early snow storm. It was so peaceful and was very enjoyable - a great stop on our road trip. We continued on to
Pennsylvania and found a Tim Horton’s - what a relief - everyone needed their Tim’s! We continued on
as far as Erie, Pennsylvania and did some snack shopping, and later we headed back to
Niagara Falls.  It was so
great to be back to the place where we just recently won our national titles.

In Toronto we had a chance to do some shopping, which myself and Kristen really enjoyed, went to the
CN
Tower
, which I must say is very beautiful at night. As well, while we were in Toronto we had to chance to attend
the
Toronto Maple Leafs Practice we were so honoured and excited to be invited to their practice!  Although
they didn’t have time to sign autographs (because the team was flying to Montreal right after practice) we did
get a photo with Alexi Ponikarvoski (#39) who was gracious enough to let me try on his helmet and we got a
picture with Kristen holding his hockey stick.  It was such a great day since the Leaf’s are my #1 team!! Woo
Go Leafs!

On Thursday before our event we headed down to
City TV's Speakers Corner to wish everyone a Merry
Christmas especially everyone back home in Newfoundland and Labrador so make sure you keep your eyes out
on
Much. As well, we attended a Charity Fashion Show in aid of Horizons of Youth which is a youth shelter
for teenagers on the streets of Toronto. This was such a great organization and it was great to see
Team TELUS
Cares
(TELUS Mobility) host this event for them. Just to see these ‘up and coming’ designers and models
all there for a great cause was a pleasure and getting to speak at such a prestigious event was an honour. After the
show we stayed and danced for a while with all the models, guests and committee members - it was a night to
remember.

The next morning we started the road trip again, this time destination
Ottawa, the nation’s Capital. Once we
arrived, we had a guided tour of
Rideau Hall, which is the residence of the Governor General Her Excellency the
Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean. It was so great to be able to take in such a great part of our heritage of
Canada. After our very informative tour by Scott, our tour guide who I would like to thank for showing us around,
we headed across the street and got a picture in from our
Prime Minister’s residence. That night we
relaxed after a long day of driving.

On November 11th, it was an absolute privilege to stand in Ottawa and the
National Remembrance Day
Ceremony
and lay a wreath on behalf of Newfoundlanders and Labradoreans to remember all those brave
soldiers who lost their lives from our beautiful province. Even to just be there gives such an appreciation for all of
those brave men and women who risked their lives for our peace, and I am truly thankful.

The following morning after the rain had cleared off; we took in some more heritage and visited the
Parliament
Buildings
. The beautiful architecture, and history that lies in this building is breath taking, and this was one of my
favourite parts. Being in the peace tower looking down over Ottawa was such a great experience as well as visiting
to Memorial Chamber and seeing the book which displayed the names of all the fallen soldiers from Newfoundland
and Labrador.

That evening we head off to
Montreal where we visited the Cathedral de Notre Dame and drove around Old
Montreal to see the beautiful city, it was too cold to walk around so we drove. After dinner we headed back to
our hotel to get some much needed rest after a long day.

Early rise again Sunday morning, I was up at 4 a.m. and off to the airport where I had the pleasure to fly once
again with
Air Labrador. After a great week and a day of travel - as soon as I got home I went straight to bed.

Thank you so much to Isabelle for arranging this trip for us. To Brian for allowing us to crash at his house in
Toronto, and Bill (Isabelle’s brother) for letting us stay with him in Ottawa. To Madison and Bryanna for
letting us drive with them and keeping us entertained. To Christopher and Kristen - my shopping buddies and
especially Kristen my sleep buddy on our trip. It was nice to be able to spend so much time with you; you are such
a wonderful young women and someone who I respect very much.

After I got home and had a chance to catch up on all my school work I missed, I attended the
opening of the
VOCM Happy Tree
. Seeing “Happy (the tree) wake up, people carolling and shopping for Christmas
presents really put me in the Christmas Spirit which is exactly what I need right now. Christmas is a time about
family and enjoying life, it just makes you appreciate everything so much and it is my favourite time of year.

On Saturday I attended the
Kids Eat Smart Table Wear annual dinner. Kids Eat Smart is my charity because
they are all about Healthy Living and I was glad to be able to help them with their fundraiser. Thanks to all the
volunteers and the students of Mount Pearl Senior High for the entertainment.

I was up bright and early on Sunday morning to attend the
Arthritis Society’s Jingle Bell Walk, Aimee
(Miss Newfoundland and Labrador) and myself helped with registration - and then we got a massage. After all the
runners were back, we met a set of 3-month-old twins who were dressed like Santa and Mrs. Claus, (Mark and
Melissa were their names) and they were so cute!

After that, Aimee and I headed down to Pier 7 to attend
Coldwell Banker Hanlon’s Family Fun Day in
aid of Heavenly Creatures
.  We read the story “Why Do Dogs Sniff Bums?â€ I also did some face
painting and had a chance to spend time with the children as well as the animals that were up for adoption.

Since being home from Toronto I have also taped an interview with Island Furniture for their Christmas Radio ad
campaign; and taped a commercial with Chris Fry to advertise applications for the 2007 Miss Teen Newfoundland
& Labrador Pageant, which will air on 99.1 Hits FM  and the VOCM stations.

Sorry this journal was so long but trying to get back on track with school didn’t allow much time to write a
journal until now. But I promise to keep you posted and I hope you are all enjoying your holiday season so far.

Hello Everyone,

Happy New Year! I hope you have all ad a very safe and Merry Christmas! Since my last journal the Christmas
season really started to kick in with lots of great events. First was the Annual Downtown Santa Clause Parade.
Last year at the Santa Clause Parade I had looked at my friend Katie and joked and said when I saw Nikita
Hickey, “I am going to be sitting on that limo this time next year. Little did I know but it actually happened.
This was the event I was looking forward to all year. Not only was I getting to sit on top of the SUV Limo
Courtesy of Memories Forever Limousine Service, but I always got to look nice in a beautiful fur coat thanks to
Vogue Furriers. As well I had some great company along with me.  Thanks to Madison Lindstrom, Miss Preteen
Canada for coming down to be a part of this event as well as Aimee Power, Miss Newfoundland and Labrador -
you both looked beautiful.

The following week I did a Christmas Parade in Portugal Cove – St. Phillips and the scenery was beautiful, it was
a little cold though, sitting n top of the Limo for two and a half hours but it was great. I love Christmas!

That evening I attended the Mount Pearl Tree Lighting Ceremony with Paul Reines of VOCM. Thanks to all the
performers that day and everyone who came out to see the Tree Lighting.

A few days later, I went to the first ever Tree of life Candlelight vigil in Blaketown where I had a chance to spend
some time and get to know the members of the Students Against Drunk Driving Committee (SADD). It was very
inspirational to see the youth of our province take the initiative to promote the importance of this subject especially
during the Christmas Season. It was a very successful event and I hope you continue to spread you message and
continue this event for years to come.

The following weekend I had the pleasure to attend the Janeway Christmas Party. It was so great to be able to be
apart of such an amazing day, to see the smiles on these children’s faces as they celebrated the Christmas
Season. I am just glad I could help in any way, just to be there put a smile on my face and reminded me of the true
meaning of Christmas, just being with your family.

After we left the Janeway, we went to the RCMP office building with all the volunteers from the Janeway.  Thank
you to the RCMP for inviting all the volunteers to show their appreciation for supporting the Janeway.

Still later that evening, I helped Claudette Barnes from VOCM and Aimee Power, Miss Newfoundland and
Labrador, host the Festival of Music and Lights in Bowring Park. It was an extremely cold evening, but the hot
chocolate and the great company made it all better. Once the lights were on, it really felt like Christmas - especially
because I couldn’t feel my toes - it was really cold!
After a little time by the fire to warm up, I was off again that evening to attend the St. Luke’s Old Fashion
Christmas Concert. The entertainment was fabulous! I had a chance to see Steward and Joe, my friends from St.
Luke’s. Aimee and myself went on stage and joined in with the sing-a-long. After the show we had the
opportunity to meet Craig Sharpe who was gracious enough to perform at the show, which is one of the biggest
fundraisers for St. Luke’s.

After the St. Luke’s Concert I attended both the Bishop Meadon and St. Luke’s Seniors Home Christmas
Party. I really enjoyed sitting down and getting to know some of the seniors and helped passing out gifts and
refreshments. St. Luke’s has been so great to me with all their support over the past year and I am glad they
invited me back to help out as much as possible. The seniors are such great people with very interesting stories, let
me assure you, it just made my Christmas so much better!

On December. 13th I helped out at the Interex Customer Appreciation party, helping at the door as well with some
ticket draws. It was very gracious of this company to give something back to their customers to thank them for their
continued support to their business.

The last weekend before Christmas I attended Coldwell Banker Hanlon's Children's Christmas Party. I helped with
face painting and I must say we had some cute reindeers and candy canes going around the party! We had great
food and entertainment and even better company.

The last thing I did before my Christmas Holidays, and one of the most exciting, I had the opportunity to tape a
Public Service Announcement for NTV. It was about not Drinking and Driving which I think is extremely important
to emphasis especially at a time like Christmas when everyone is home enjoying time with family and friends. It was
so exciting to be at NTV in the studio, I swear I felt like a little kid on Christmas morning, which is fitting since
Christmas was just around the corner. I hope my message made people stop and think before getting behind the
wheel after drinking, even if you only had one drink, that is one drink to many.

I really hope everyone had a very safe and Merry Christmas, mine was very eventful and exciting and I wish you all
the best in the New Year! Hope Santa was good to everyone!

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Christmas is the season of love and to spend time with your family and friends. I am looking forward to my holidays
where I will be able to relax and spend Christmas with my family in Lawn, on the Burin Peninsula.

I want to thank everyone for all their support and kindness over my year and I sincerely wish you all the best during
the Holiday Season. Hope you have a safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Remember, although Christmas is a time to have fun, please be responsible and think about your family and friends
. . . and please Don’t Drink and Drive.

With love and best wishes,
Sabrina

Hi everyone,

Only a few weeks left, how fast the time goes. Since Christmas things have slowed down a lot, but I have still
managed to find a few events to attend. In January I attended ACME Financial “Money Talks seminar. It
was a great chance to get a head start on exploring the world of finances and seeing how I should invest my
money, that is when I manage to have some money!  I had a wonderful night I had a chance to talk to Brad
Gushue again; and I met Bob Egan from the band Blue Rodeo, who was a motivational speaker at the event.

The last weekend in January I finally made it to Labrador City. Karisa and Melissa have been asking me all year
to go see them and finally I had a chance to get up there. After finishing my exams, I packed my bags headed to
the airport and aboard Air Labrador. Conrad Brown, the pilot of my flight, someone who I have gotten to know
well since I am always flying, asked me if I wanted to fly in the cockpit. So from Goose Bay to Wabush I flew in
the cockpit again, it is the coolest experience ever! I love having the head set on but I try not to talk too much
because they are flicking all the buttons and I wouldn’t want to cause a malfunction. After arriving and having
a nice supper with family friends who I was staying with, I headed over to Karisa’s house to catch up on old
times and of course Melissa came along as well. The following day, Desmond Kelly, whose house I was staying
at, took me on a 3 hour tour of Wabush Mines. We first drove around the pit to the different sites they were
excavating, and after that, Bob let me get up in his huge - and I mean huge - loader and sit in the seat of the truck -
it was so much fun! Just to let you know, I am amused easily by these things, big trucks are so interesting! I
looked so small compared to them. After that, I rode in a dump truck with Jamie and we drove a load over to the
crusher. From the crusher we followed the path of the Iron Ore all t
